Hello all! This is my first time posting on this board, though I've been lurking for some time now. My wife and I have been together for 4.5 years, married for 6 months. My wife is 14.5 weeks pregnant with our first child and we're due March 8th! We have our second appointment today, though we've already seen our little Boomba (in the Womba) at our ten week appointment just waving away. Best day of my life.
There has been so many good convos on this thread, it's hard to comment on all of them! I will say that I always get so mad when I hear about people's ridiculousness when it comes to bathroom situations, etc. They just need to get over themselves and realize that people are different and not everybody is a cookie cutter versions of society's "gender norms".
Confession: I am seriously over my new sister-in-law (my brother's new wife) and her disdain for our pregnancy. We are a very close family, and I am especially close with my brother. His new wife, M, has always been a really good friend and I am quite shocked at how she's been acting. We've talked openly with her for years about how once my wife and I were married, we were going to start trying to have a family as we've been together for some time and she's always been super supportive of it. Well, when we told them we were pregnant, she was less then excited to say the least, though she did try to somewhat fein happiness. She told our mutual friends that she thought she was going to be the first one to give my parents grand-kids (even though she and my brother are five years younger then us!). So basically, I feel like she just pretended to be excited for us when we talked about our plans for a couple of years because she thought since we're lesbians, it wouldn't ACTUALLY happen in a timely manner and she would have kids first. Ugh, SO OVER the stupid drama or "me first" attitude among family members. It especially pisses me off since M's own sister-in-law, on the other side, is pregnant with their second child and she couldn't be happier for them. Ok, end rant.
