DD has been withholding stool since she was just over a year and a half old. We started potty training a few weeks ago, and we had the pees down in the first day, but I still leave her in pull-ups for naps and overnight and we were having no success with poop. She holds her poop until nap time or overnight when she has a pull-up on and there is no one around. Privacy (and control) are a huge thing with her when it comes to doing poop, so I decided to leave her potty in her room at naps and overnight and see what happens. I was terrified at what I was going to find the first few times I went in there, but luckily she peed on it a few times throughout the week and it stayed in the potty. This morning, for the first time, I guess she decided she was comfortable enough to go poo on the potty and she did it by herself! I am so so happy! I don't know if it's a one-off kind of thing, this is the first time it's happened since we started potty training at the beginning of the month, but I'm hoping and crossing everything that leaving the potty in her room is the solution. Poop withholding has been such a battle with her for the last year, this is so huge.
