Do you take all meds at the same time? — The Bump

Do you take all meds at the same time?

I am on an antagonist protocol and I am taking Gonal f, menopur, and cetrotide. I have been taking all three in a row around the same time at night. I prepare and mix the shots then line up the needles.

Wondering what you all do?

Re: Do you take all meds at the same time?

  • Both of my REs had me space out the Menopur and Follistim (or Gonal-F) by 12 hours. So I would do the Menopur at 8:30am, and the Follistim 8:30pm. They were pretty strict about that, for whatever reason. I did Ganirelix (Cetrotide) in the AM.
    Me: 34 / DH: 33
19-year history of endometriosis. Multiple surgeries and cyst removals. Forced directly into IVF due to blocked tubes and severe adhesions.
IVF w/ICSI and CCS #1 - Dec 2013 - Only 1 normal. Ended in CP
IVF w/ICSI and CCS #2, at CCRM - March 2014!
    14R, 12 ICSI'd, 11F, 6 for CCS, 5 healthy blasts frozen!
    Two 5BB blasts transferred 9/10; First beta 9/19: 109; second beta 9/22: 550!

That's so interesting! I wonder what they're reasoning is. I'd be really curious.

  • My instructions were to just start them all that "night". Hmmm, now I'm worried that I should have spaced them.
  • I had to take my ganirelix at 7pm and then my menopur and gonal-f were one after another between 9 and 10 pm.  Seems like we all had a wide variety of answers :)

taking meds at a consistent time each day is the most important part.  If they said all at night and didn't give more specific times then it's probably fine the way you did it.

  • Yeah, the really important part is that you take them consistently at the same time, each day. I have thoughts on why they had me separate the Follistim and Menopur, but I couldn't say for sure.
