High-Risk Pregnancy

when's the best time to leave work?

Im trying to work as long as possibly able. 34 weeks preggy and its getting harder and harder each day. Trying to work another month.... would 38 weeks be a good time to start my maturity leave?

Re: when's the best time to leave work?

  • I'm planning on ducking out at 37 weeks (mainly because my diabetes may mean an early induction or c-section).  I would say if you feel comfortable sticking around until 38 weeks do it!

  • I'm going to work as long as I can.  I've been told that I can WFH when I get too uncomfortable, but I'm not sure when that will be.  Right now the docs are talking about delivery at 37 weeks (baby is measuring big, *sigh*) but I think it's too soon to tell (I'm 29 weeks).

  • I worked to the day I delivered.  With DS2 I was on modified bedrest from week 32-36 then went back to work to 36-39 (when I was induced).  Unless you work is strenuous I would work as long as possible.

  • I'm working as long as possible to save leave time for after the baby comes... Right now the plan is to work from home if needed, and continue working until the day I deliver.

  • With my son I worked until the day before he was born. I intend to do the same this pregnancy as well.
