  • DS was obsessed with Caillou for the longest time, then he moved onto Thomas, next was Paw Patrol. So, I guess it's getting better? I need to push more Daniel Tiger.
  • We're far from screen free here. Rosie had her own iPod loaded with Bubble Guppies at 1 year. Cade is getting an iPad for Christmas. Both of them get to pick shows on the TV using our Amazon Fire player. TV and tech is part of life these days. It's only going to get worse too. I try not to use TV too much, but they learn so much. Plus Cade loves playing Minecraft with Mommy.

  • LOL. No way in hell. I put him to bed with Netflix on his tablet.

    No shame in my game.
  • I was pretty good about it until DD was ten months old. Then I went back to work and how else can I get anything done? I knew a family growing up who NEVER let their watch tv. One day I was babysitting for them along witH another family and I put on
Home alone. They wer in a TRANCE

  • I don't know about you guys but I watch a ton of tv in the eighties as a kid. I watched a lot of inappropriAte stuff. My sister was four years olde and I watched what she watched. I remember wall street being on an seeing the scene of a woman walking around with her bush hanging out.

I have 4 siblings that are much older than I am, so I totally get it. At 5 I was watching The Shining. I can remember watching Footloose as a kid and my mom covering my eyes when the penises were flapping about in the shower scene.

There are penises in Footloose? How have I not noticed that?

I thought so. Maybe just naked butts? But there is something in the shower scene my mom covered my eyes for. I have not actually watched that movie since it first came out on VHS, so my memory could be off.
  • Would have been fun though!
  • In kindergarten (why can't I ever spell that word) I was Shining Star of the week and they asked what my favorite tv show was.

    Night Court
    Bull!!! Loved that show
  • @bythebeach09 I'm pretty sure I saw the Shining too. That is STILL the second scariest movie I've ever seen (second to the Exorcist).  I also watched Helter Skelter, the story of Charles Manson.  I remember being terrified that he was going to get out of jail and kill me. Good movie choice, Dad! Gotta love the 80s.
  • We just used a DVD player to keep DS (21 months) quiet for a 2 hour car ride. No guilt here. Although my mom did tell me he's spoiled because he gets in the car with her and instantly says, "TV? Remote? Watch movie?"
  • The Exorcist scared the crap out of me. Still does. Plus, I have 3 older brothers who were teenagers when I was 7. They were all into the Friday the 13th movies. One night 2 of my brothers thought it would be hysterical to scare me. I was asleep and I woke up to hearing the Jason sounds (the whispery scary sounds). I open my eyes and see a dark shadow at my door (brother 1) and then an arm reaches up from under my bed and pulls me onto the floor (brother 2). Scariest thing ever. They got in SO much trouble. I think they were grounded for 2 months. I had to sleep with a light on for quite some time. Mean big brothers.
  • Sweet sweet Devil Box =P~
