Follicle size and IUI?

Okay, so I am in the process of IUI #4. After a round of Clomid, I have two follies (measured at 15mm and 17mm yesterday, 17.8mm today for the bigger one). I've decided to go back in tomorrow AM. Hoping to have IUI done on Friday. How many and how big should I be expecting for follicles after Clomid?? Does this sound right?

That sounds really good! 2 follies in the mature size range is awesome. I'm not experienced with Clomid, but I'm sure some other ladies will have experience on when they will trigger.

Last month IUI #2 on 50mg clomid I had two dominant follicles by CD14 and they were 19&18mm when they told me to trigger based on my turning a strong positive OPK and blood work. I had a few lingering 14, 12 follicles that never matured. They should be able to better judge tomorrow. My RE would never trigger follicles that size, but it's also based on your blood work. I'd think they would give it another day or two. I O'd late with clomid, it's not unusual!

Two follicles is really good.  Are you triggering tonight?  In each of my 3 IUI cycles I have had at least one follie, twice I had two.  I triggered on a 21 the first time, a 19/20 the second time and a 19/21 the third time.  My RE told me that follies tend to grow about 2 mm a day once they start to mature but that doesn't always happen.  I had 2 15mm follies on Monday when I went for my mid-cycle u/s and today when I went in for a follow up u/s one had grown to 19 and the other to 21.

Those sound great!  I've never had more than one mature follie in the cycle, but it sounds like both of yours may be ready in time.  My RE likes the follies to be at least 18mm before triggering.

My RE like my follicles to measure 36 (the total when you add the two, so last time it was 19x21 or something)

On my 2 monitored cycles of clomid I had 2 mature follies in one cycle and 1 in the other. My RE likes to trigger when my follies are atleast 18mm. Just wondering, does anyone know how big follicles get before they release an egg on their own?

Woot! Woot! My follies grew to 20mm and 23mm overnight! I am triggering this afternoon and have IUI #3 scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:00. I'm also doing acupuncture before/after procedure. Hoping this will do the trick...... Wish me luck!

This month I took Femara and only had one follicle over 12mm, but that one was 27mm on CD10.  They had me do the trigger shot that day and the IUI the day after. Sounds good that you got two.  It should help your odds of success.  Good luck!

Sounds good. The trigger will also give a little boost in growth as well. I've always had large follicles on clomid (26, 24, 22 a few 21mm  from past IUIs). Good luck.

I triggered Wednesday with a 17mm follie.

I usually trigger around 17mm, maybe 18. I've never made it to a 19+, they have always triggered me before that.

Glad it went well! I had mine today too so I'll be waiting with you. DHs numbers were terrible so we'll see. Only take 1 right?
