8/18-8/24 Track Club

Alright everybody, let's hear how last week went for everybody in the track club!
How did you do with your goals and what are your goals for the coming week?

I don't know about you, but this "disco aerobics" looks pretty...interesting.  May add it to my rotation, hahaha.  I kid, I kid.

Re: 8/18-8/24 Track Club

  • Happy Monday!

Last week my goals were to track food every day and get 8000 steps in 5 times, and i did both! I even got a 0.5 pound loss in there, although I think it is more, but i eat a TON of sodium filled foods on the weekend, evidently and i have a lot of water retention...I'm going to weigh myself on Wednesday too, to see how it differs.

Example: last Monday I weighed myself and I had gained a pound (211.7), but by Wednesday I had eaten well and went down to 208.6. Friday is pizza night and we also have hot dogs in there as well on sunday!

So this week my goals are:

    1. Track food every day
    2. 8000 steps three times, and 10000 steps twice
    3. Eat only one slice of pizza on Friday with a salad instead of three
    4. Cut my processed sugar WAY down. Most of the days I went over were because of snacking and desserts.

    Here's to a great week!

  • I hear you @2lacyblue‌, time management is HARD with a baby. There are days when I have big plans to be productive and all of a sudden it's 4pm and I've done nothing but hand out with LO.

  • I *need* to join in.

I'm almost 7w pp and have lost 20 of the 50 lbs I gained while pregnant. Ideally, I'd like to lose 25 more so I can get back into my regular clothes.

I was pretty much back to normal by 12w after both previous pregnancies but I gained more weight and have this (irrational?) fear that I won't lose all the weight this time. I've always been lucky to have a high metabolism but I'm also trying to be realistic since I've been pregnant three times in the last six years and I'm not getting any younger.

My biggest problem is that I'm still eating like I'm PG. And I am walking but not enough.

Goals (starting kinda vague on purpose):

-walk every day and increase distance walked
-track all eating and eat more produce
    -drink more water
  • Happy Monday indeed!

I did well with my goals last week!
At least one day at 10,000 and 4 days of 8,000 or over
    - I was over 10,000 everyday.
Work out a better treat system.  I will conquer this sugar addiction!
    - After almost going on a complete binge fest, I got over a mental hurdle and have been able to have a serving amount of candy each day. @Bpaws - yes, the gummy bears were Haribo.  They are the best type of gummy bear out there!)
Spend 30 minutes on the elliptical at least 3 times this week
    - Done!  On days I didn't do the elliptical, I did some brisk walking or marching in place while watching TV.

This week's goals are going to be similar to last week:
To not get completely crazy, I will say at least 3 days above 10,000 steps
Continue tracking food and eating a reasonable amount of candy instead of the entire flippin' bag
Have at least 30 minutes of "active" movement each day.

  • @matthews930 - Sodium gets me on the weekend too.  We have pizza for dinner on Saturday and I tried to counteract the water retention by drinking a ton of water with it.  I don't know if that makes sense, but it seemed to definitely help me avoid a weight shift.

I wasn't drinking nearly enough water this weekend :( I was thirsty ALL DAY.

  • I've been hiding from this thread but I guess it's time for some goals -

    - Run 3x this week - 3 miles < 40min
    - eat salad 4x this week - I have a serious problem eating cookies and no veggies
    - start Zumba on weds

I gain 3lbs last week even though I met my two goals of running 3x and no fast food. I was a little devasted. So time for a few more healthy food choices.

  • I achieved my goals (eat clean, move more, lose two pounds), but the scale and my measurements aren't changing. So that blows.

    My goals this week:

Eat clean, avoid the jar of potty training candy

    Drink 100+ ounces of water

    Lose 2 pounds

Walk 2 miles minimum daily and don't avoid the hills
    image
  • @knittylady‌ - theory confirmed. One day of eating and drinking decently, and the scale now reads 208.3. Amazing...

  • I know it's not Monday but I need some accountability in my life....I started this pregnancy at 118 and in d day I was 171. I'mddown to a very giggly 134. My goal is to be at 120 by the endfof September. Probably very unrealisTic considering I can't really diet but I'm going to try......

    My goals:
100 oz of water a day

At least 3 walks over 2 miles.

Cut out the sweets and cut down the carbs

  • I almost met my walking goal & did 2-3 miles 3 days. I have not attempted my core exercises.

How are mom's of 2 managing? I'm active during the day chasing my 2 year old but have a hard time exercising.
  • Last week I was a little sick, so didn't run as much as I would have liked. This weeks goals:

-run 20+ miles (already have 7)

    -do sworkit core workout 3x

    -swim 1-2x

-walk 4 miles on my "off days"

  • In still having issues getting my steps in, morning walks did not happen since my husband is awesome and let's me sleep. But I did get my yoga and my runs in and my water intake. Im going to add in strength/interval training two days a week now and with going back to work (still can't believe that already) how it goes. I managed to lose 2 pounds also woot woot! Three more to go to be back to pp but I want 30 more!

The ONLY reason I have been successful for the last two weeks is because I have my mother helping me during the day, and if I can't get to the gym during the day while she's here, my husband kicks my ass to go at night no matter how tired I am.

I had a non - scale victory today...I got my wedding jewelry back on! It's totally because it hasn't been that humid/hot here lately and not necessarily because I've lost weight. But I had to put them away back in June sometime, so I'll take it!

  • Thanks @BPaws!  I'm so sore every day.  I know I used to have muscles, I'm just waiting for them to come back.

Ran 3 miles tonight in 35min.  Definitely improving, so I'm happy about that.  I'm trying to vary my workouts.  Last night I did a kickboxing workout, ran tonight and I'm trying to get out to zumba tomorrow night.  DH and I are signed up for a 5k on 9/6, so I have to be a little less greedy with the evening workout hours.

I really can't control what I eat.  I'm so uninterested in eating clean, but I know what I have to do.  Ugh.  I love cookies and cheez its!

^^This is me. My activity is definitely up, but I'm still eating a ton. Ugh...

  • I'm eight weeks pp and still haven't been released to exercise.  I am hoping tomorrow my doctor will release me and I can get moving.  After surgery last week I gained 5 pounds.  I think it's just from the swelling but it is still incredibly depressing to see that number on the scale.  I am mentally sinking.

    1.  Met fluid goal last week, I intend to keep it up because I'm horrible about drinking anything but coffee.

    2.  Keep tracking.  I joined WW and so far I haven't gone over my daily points.

    3.  Start moving this weekend.  We have a walking path around our field that is 1/4 mile long so hopefully I can sneak out tomorrow evening.

Do any of you use the "Daily Burn" and if so is it worth the money?

I met my 10000 step goal for the first time yesterday, but last night while BFing, I had a gush of blood (I was almost done bleeding--down to panty liners). I don't know if the rigorous walking (I speed walked with LO in a sling) did it, but now I'm worried that I overdid it. And frustrated if I can't even speed walk.

This keeps happening to me too. .. I'm kind of ignoring it. ..I just try to take it easy the rest of the day. It is very frustrating though :(
