5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Today a friend told me he's really impressed that I still walk elegantly, sans waddle.
So, uhm, when does the waddle typically start? Now I'm self conscious when I walk!
Lol! The waddle set in for me just a few days ago (I'm 31 weeks today). It isn't bad all the time, but usually by the time I'm done grocery shopping it is full on waddle.
So, in addition to the AC being out (waiting on parts), our main car's battery decides to die. I'm so over these unexpected expenses. I just want to spend money on silly baby things.
That sucks! I'm sorry. FX this is the end of all the unexpected costs.
@apk4 Thanks .... and no. We spoke with the home warranty company this afternoon for the AC and apparently there is work that they don't cover ... to the tune of $470. I'm trying to figure out why I even pay for home warranty.... Anyway, FX THIS is now the last thing!
ETA Also, my baby shower, being hosted by my coming-into-town-from-out-of-state mom and sisters, if supposed to happen at my house next weekend. If the AC parts don't come in, we're going to have to find another spot....

Oh no! Do you live in a decently cool area? Our a/c went out last year during 90+ degree weather every day and the warranty company was going to take 5-7 days to fix it. I ended up voiding our warranty and paying $300 to get it fixed quicker. I hate that the warranty companies end up being so scammy.
I know we've talked about the "free" baby sites where you can get slings, nursing pillows, carseat covers, etc. And only pay for S/H, but has anyone ordered the nursing cover? I'm wondering if it is decent/comfortable - the fabric looks like it could be pretty stiff.
@pnwlover my friend just ordered it for her sister. And most of that stuff is really low quality the fabric isn't too horrible but the sizing and shape isn't great. She ordered like all the free stuff but non of it I felt was even worth the free S&H

@pnwlover12 Thank you for bringing up the free nursing covers.I lost the one I brought when I had DD. I was going to order the free one, but now I'll just suck it up and buy another Bebe Au Lait.

Call me crazy, but wouldn't a light blanket work the same as a nursing cover? I'm trying NOT to get sucked into the "OMG, must have all the baby stuff" hype, but have a hard time figuring it what's really a must-have item.

I have to agree with you here. I've been using a plain muslin blanket as a pumping cover and it's perfect. I fully expect to use it when breastfeeding too.
-- I would like something that goes around me rather than just using a blanket that could fall off easily.
If you have a nice thin blanket you want to use you can always sew a neck band onto it. So it goes over your head but then you have something soft and nice against you and baby. I know a few people who have done this @pnwlover

I don't sew....at all. Lol. I can just buy a different type, but I just wanted to see if anyone had used the "free" one and if it was worth the 12.95 in S/H.

Sorry - I didn't read this all the way through
I have one, and it's pretty nice actually. It's roomy enough. The fabric was pretty stiff but I put it through the wash with some vinegar a couple of times and it softened it right up. So I do have one to use if I want it.
I've taken advantage of the "free" nursing cover, breast pads and car seat canopy. So far I like them all
Nice! Good to know. I might get one, I mean it is only $13, right? I just don't want to spend a lot in case I don't end up BFing.

I totally have the waddle going on. Even my 5yr old asked why I was pretending to be a duck.
Also, we have hail.

I had that same question...like WTF is a silver fish. So I googled it. Mistake.
