Totally agree.  I was a member of August '12 and several other groups for my MCs.  I have seen some of the most caustic responses on this board.  All of the comments about not posting due to organization are really irritating.  I like seeing topics like bloated or hip pain instead of having to scroll down through a daily topic list.  I also think it was super obnoxious for a couple of people to set rules before everyone had joined the April group--seems like everyone should have a say.

I guess I expected a little more maturity but we have people from all walks of life and they all grew up differently.

Respecting others in my book is very important and even if I'm annoyed with someone writing a dumb post, but I have an answer for...I try to answer the nicest way possible because they could truly be concerned at that moment...

A lot of us are stressed out as it is, I don't think we need to put more stress on one another if someone doesn't want to look through all the previous posts.

The symptoms thread everyday is annoying but at the same time, I find myself looking at it and read that certain women have the exact symptoms as me, which is comforting that I'm not by myself...


My opinion, rules are overrated and organization is nice but it might not happen for a while so such sit back, and enjoy life(:

and everyone should stop stressing and being dramatic...

 I did not join A12 early and my prior name was whynotwhynot (I changed my e-mail address and then forgot my password so it was easier to just rejoin earlier this year).  Maybe it takes a couple of weeks for things to settle down?  I was just reading through some posts this morning and found several comments telling people to only comment on certain posts to be rather off putting.

There's a difference between not agreeing in a diplomatic way and calling someone stupid. I've seen comments when someone called another lady stupid for a question she asked....I don't think that's fair.

Well the picture of the knight riding a unicorn is indicating a "White Knight," someone who comes in to defend another poster for no apparent reason.  Especially when no real issue is being argued.  

Often when we refer to things like "rainbows and unicorns and glitter" we are facetiously referring to the desire some people have for more coddling/cooing/patronizing  as opposed to matter-of-fact responses.

This board should be a "safe" place, but it's not... just like I shouldn't have to lock my doors at night but I do.
In ANY group of this many strangers there will be jerks, there will be annoying people, there will be bullies, there will be people who post what they should be googling. It's a giant mix of personalities and while I may be dissapointed in some of the things I've read so far, I do believe that this group will be a fun, supportive group of ladies who may not always agree but will be there to give perspective and encouragement.
Don't let anyone tell you to go to another board or this might not be the one for you. It's your board as much as it is theirs and you have every right to be here voicing your opinion... As long as you respect that they will voice theirs and it may be oppositional.
This board belongs to all of us and it can be whatever we want it to be, so whether you're a Kumbaya or a snarky Beeotch with a chip on your shoulder, I can't wait to party with you these 8 months.

Believe it or not, it's not always this way. My last BMB never reached this level--not even in the early days. Three years later we are still incredibly close and many of us meet on a regular basis. It's possible, but not when you have a bunch of grown women who think it's, like, omg so much funnnnn to act like they've never learned how to interact like adults.

I'll admit that there is no way on this earth I have time to read (or even skim) every thread here, so maybe it is possible that I'm missing the more supportive posts. I don't know. But I can tell you that well-educated women are just as, if not more, likely to be snarky in their responses and I find the snark as unnecessary and unattractive in a grown woman as I do the drama of not being told what you want to hear. Yes, I know, TB loves snark yada yada... been here a long time, don't need to be told... Maybe I should not be jumping back in at this point. BUT because I do have the experience of my last BMB, I'd like to think we can eventually have that here too, without telling people to go to BabyCenter if they want to make friends. Shrug. Time will tell.
