It makes me stabby when people say they "secretly" want LO to come early. I know the last weeks are awful and I am tired of being pregnant too. But, every day this baby bakes is so important right now. This is especially true for FTMs who havd yet to realize their life will never be their ownagain, so suck it up butter cups and get used to it.
Totally agree. Whenever someone says something like that to me I always say that he can stay in as long as he likes since it's easier to take care of them on the inside than the outside.

Maybe it's just me, but being a FTM I just got used to the fact a long time ago that the average gestational age for a first pregnancy is 41w1d. Why does everyone hold onto their DD with vice like grip? So I am expecting this baby to just come 2 weeks late and then maybe I won't be so miserable when I can't get him to vacate.

Yes! I have a friend who has been trying to tell me I'm "full-term" since about 35 weeks, and that I must be hoping for labor, and maybe I can be induced. I keep saying that I would like to make it to 40 weeks, but she just doesn't get it.
I am tired of people asking how I am feeling. I know they mean well but what do they expect me to say? And it's annoying because so many people keep asking. I feel pregnant.

WORD. The people who are like, WILLING their baby to come now make me roll my eyes so hard that it damn near makes me farsighted.

I am not gonna lie...I'm straight up waiting to pounce on the first person who suggests an early induction to me. I've already gotten shit for being willing to go past 40 weeks.

So, if I catch heat for this one, I understand; my UO is I think if you're so old that your reaction timing has slowed significantly, you should not be allowed to operate a motor vehicle. To me, it's the same as if someone's reaction timing was slowed by drugs or alcohol. I'm not an an agist (sp?), I just don't think it's safe.
And another. Probably more of a B&M but, oh well. I am also tired of people asking if I am going to have the baby right there while I am out somewhere. Monday two different people at the grocery store if I was going to go in labor right then. Yesterday, I had to get my car towed (don't even get KF started on that!) and the driver asked if he should be ready to "catch" the baby. What the fuck?!?!
This. All the time. Almost every time I squat down to pick something up (which is so much easier than bending over), someone says something like, "Don't do that or the baby might come out!" Uh, no, that's not how it works. Also, I get a tiny look of terror from every cab driver I hail, like he's afraid I'm going to ask him to take me to a hospital, even though I'm usually in scrubs and LEAVING a hospital.
I can't stand it when people count their child's age in months after a year. Your kid isn't 18 months, he/she is a year and a half. I'm not 398 months old, I'm 33!! That's like counting how much money you have only in pennies
@MrsLaLaBug@trebekastan@SmileyGirl18 Regarding the whole wanting baby to come early thing - for about 3 weeks I've been operating under the plan that because of my GD and baby's gigundo size we would have to induce as early as 37 weeks. As of yesterday ob is happy to let me go and baby stay in as long as I keep my sugar numbers under control. You can bet your ass that as uncomfortable as I am and how much I'd like to be done with contractions, cramping, sciatica, swelling, not being able to stay asleep, and all the other joys of third tri... I want this baby inside as long as he is safe. If this is an UO I give up.

No, you are a horrible person for thinking this and I shall never forgive you. Shit list it is.

I agree, after a certain age people should have to take the drivers test again. I feel bad that people need to get around but this is for safety. However I will say I am ignorant to the statistics of older individuals and how many accidents they cause. I just hate when they are going 10 or more mph below the speed limit on main roads.

I vote for mandatory retesting every 3 years starting at 65 and then every year at 75. I saw an old lady driving on the wrong side of the road last year. Last week I saw an old man doing 45 in a 70. He probably caused an accident.

I agree. I'm all for an elderly person's independence, but when something that they are doing threatens the safety of my loved ones, me, and not to mention everyone else on the road... enough is enough. It's not an ageist issue, it's a safety issue.
Man, there ain't no secret about it. I am done with being pregnant. That being said, I've always looked at my EDD as a 4- week range. When people ask me how much longer I have, I say between tomorrow and 4 weeks from now. Don't get me wrong, of COURSE baby is my #1 priority. He can stay in as long as his little heart and lungs desire, but it won't hurt my feelings if he comes tonight, either.....because my vag hurts.

GAH! I'll join you guys on the keeping baby in STFU people who are trying to force her out early. I talk a lot of pregnancy smack, I flipping hate it, and I would be over joyed if she came on her due date. I jokingly say I'm gonna do XY and Z on my due date, but seriously.. she should stay put. My clients at work have been telling me for the last 2 weeks they don't think I'm going to make it until my due date, and it's straight making me MAD(Especially since I'm only 33 weeks, we have a ways to go). I keep smiling at them and telling them that this time is important for baby and that I want her to stay as long as she wants, but they don't listen (and since a lot of them have severe developmental disabilities, some of them will never listen and hear me when I tell them it's rude to comment on my pregnancy and wish it would hurry up and be over, let alone understand WHY it is rude.).

I worked at a bank a long time ago and we had this woman that would come through the drive up. She was actually 99 years old and she would always send us her deposit slip and ask us to fill them out because she couldn't see them. She also on multiple occasions told us that she is blind as a bat. Then WTF are you doing driving a car? I agree that they should be tested more often once they reach a certain age.

I must have reached a tipping point middle of last week, because all of a sudden every random person in the elevator started saying "any day now." No bitches, I've got a month and a half left. All the aunties this weekend at my shower were reminding me that "37 weeks is full term" and I just - no.

Agreed. The lady that hit my husband in March was like 65. He is lucky to be alive.
What really makes me stabby is co-workers who laugh and joke, "Are you still here?". I get this everyone morning, from at least 5 different people. Seriously people, I'm only 35 weeks. Of course, I'm still here. What could possibly be funny about prematurity, undeveloped lungs, low birth weight, and mountains of NICU bills?

My Nanna was legit 87 years old and still driving. She was visiting my aunt who lives across the street from us and when she was leaving she backed, full speed, out of her driveway right into ours and smashed into my car. She drove away and later told us she had no idea she had hit anything at all...WTF? I have also witnessed an elderly couple driving 30mph completely on the wrong side of the road in a 55mph zone. I am ALL for repeat testing after a certain age.

My Dh's grandma was hit by one of her old lady friends in the church parking lot. Lady just straight up backed into her as she was standing in the parking lot. Luckily she didn't break a hip or anything major.
This may not may not be a UO on here, but it sure is at my work today.
A parent brought me a big, beautiful gift basket completely by surprise, filled with things she got off my registry (which I never said anything about, she just figured it out) plus a big "It's A Boy" cookie cake. As soon as she left, my director came in and grabbed my cake and said, "I'll put this is in the break room for everyone." Um, no thanks, I'm taking the whole thing home to eat myself. I shared a few pieces with people I actually like, but most of those bitches have been on my nerves for weeks. So no, I will not share with you, and I don't even feel a little bad about it.
Are you kidding me? I would have bit her fingers off for touching my cookie.

Who the eff is this douche nozzle? Why would you EVER think that you could take someone's present and share it. Would he take the flowers you got and put them in the break room or chocolate covered strawberries? This is making me rage-y.

Totally UO here & I'll flame myself for sounding ungrateful...don't get me wrong tho...INCREDIBLY thankful for the thought and all the love being showered upon this baby...BUT I wish people would stop giving me newborn and 0-3m sized clothing. I got so many hand me downs which is AWESOME...but now with all these adorable new items, baby girl is going to have to be changed like 18x a day in the first month to get it all in and then she will be straight up nekky after that since we now have ALL small sizes. Or at least include a darn gift receipt so I can take the said adorable item and exchange it for a 6m, 9m,12m or above size so she can actually get use out of it!
Also, and more of a B&M, seriously sick of the backhanded pregnancy comments like "You look GREAT!" Followed by "you just waddle a little like your hips got wider." Um. Or "You totally don't even look pregnant from behind...I only see it a little in your thighs." WTF!?! Or "Your belly doesn't look bigger this week at all...but your TITTIES definitely look huge."
I would not be impressed if my COWORKER referred to my "titties". Gross.

I'm with ya on this one. I have a cousin who is SO excited about this little one and she has been buying him clothes at garages sales every time she goes (she's retired, so this is 3 times a week. I finally told her to STOP buying clothes for him. We appreciate it but he's never going to be able to wear it all - because everyone else under the sun has given us clothing too. I'm sure we will end up giving most of it away, which is ok - I know people who can use it - but I feel bad because I know that's not what these people intended when they gifted these clothes to us.

Is this still accurate? Everything I've read says full term is 39 weeks. 37 weeks is considered early term. I've seen it mentioned a lot of TB and I'm confused.

Sometimes you can narrow down where someone got something based on the brand. A lot of the time, a store will do an exchange for a different size without a receipt as long as they have both items in stock or you can just return for store credit.

i think it's annoying when people in relationships have constant back and forth lovey or one-on-one conversations with each other on social media.
*admittedly saw this UO on A14, but couldn't agree more with it.
In my experience these are the couples that have the most issues behind closed doors...
DH doesn't comment much on my FB. But, we he does, it is usually very smart ass and pretty funny. I wonder what that says about us.
Me too. I think that couples who let out a healthy amount of aggression through teasing and smart ass comments are the healthiest. DH and I can pretty much say what we want to another, roll our eyes and laugh. Way better than keeping stuff in IMHO.
I think if another department loses or fucks up something that directly affects something I am working on, they should have to be the ones to obtain a replacement for whatever was lost or messed up. I don't want to deal with an upset customer because someone else didn't do their job.
