I'm not certain how the majority of pregnant women feel about this, and it may be more of a confession than an unpopular opinion, but here goes. I think all the dietary restrictions are garbage. I love tuna. I don't eat it every day or even every week. But I will not stop myself from indulging in a tuna sandwich, if I so desire one. The same goes for sushi, coffee, deli meat, medium-rare steak, and even a glass of wine once or twice a month. I think all the rules are out of control. My doctor scolded me for all of the above recently, so I'm a little sensitive about it. I'm pretty sure baby will be fine. God, if something goes wrong, I highly doubt it will be the tuna sandwich. I choose to walk on the wild side.
I agree- I think that it is all about moderation. The only one I am actually following is not eating raw fish. Ugh I miss my sushi. A california roll will do for now (
Ok I didn't say I hate people that wear no make up or that I would treat people without make up any differently than those that wear it, it is just my unpopular opinion that I prefer when women wear make up. To ME it looks more put together. I understand that not everyone feels the same way and thats ok with me
This makes me LOL.
So you have a make up prejudice, but you don't discriminate. How progressive.
I strongly dislike when people call their children "Bubba" as a nickname. I live in TN so this is quite common. My sister does it with my nephew and it drives me nuts. He has a name, use it! Or at least a an actual NN for his name.

My UO: I think the Pledge of Allegiance is creepy as fuck.
??
I think forcing schoolchildren to recite an oath of loyalty reeks of indoctrination. And that's not even getting into the addition of "Under God" part of it.

Lol.. I call my son Bubba. It's just cute to me.
I'm just weird about names in general I guess. I intentionally picked a name for DS that has no nickname.
I'm just sitting at my desk cracking up over the thought of all us demon-faced haggard trolls! Add me to the no makeup group. Although I have wished I owned a good concealer for the last few weeks with my acne-ridden pubescent complexion! I'm probably one of the ones walking around offending people with my face!
And if my H tried to make me eat a well done steak, I would throw it at him. Maybe not throw it at my ILs or friends, but I'd openly feed it to their dogs.
My uo is that I don't like sharing the road with bikes. They don't signal when they are turning, they go through red lights when it is convenient, and they slow traffic down. I hate driving really slowly up a hill because someone in front of me is on a bike and their pants are falling down. I think it would be safer to have bike lanes as part of sidewalks instead of streets. For the record, I love biking. I just think it should be done on sidewalks.
Yay a bike one!!! Ok, I'm prefacing with I am a triathlete so in the height of training, I am riding 200+ miles a week.
1. Studies of roadways and traffic patterns show we actually DON'T slow down your drive time in any significant way.
2. In places with more bikes, traffic congestion is actually less (like some parts of Europe) making for faster drive times.
3. Asshole cyclists are assholes. But most of us aren't. Sorry. We don't want to get hit so we signal, obey traffic signals, etc. Also, MANY cars think we have to stop for every red light and stop sign. We don't. In the bike lane at some intersections, we don't have a stop line. Now, if they're riding the traffic lane, then yes. Need to stop.
4. By law in most states, we are entitled to an ENTIRE lane of traffic. Most of us stick to the far right side so you all can pass us.
5. We ride two abreast on hills and curvy roads to protect ourselves. It makes drivers have to be more careful and take more time when passing us.
6. You do not want me on a sidewalk. On a flat, straight stretch of road, I can hit 27-30mph. Downhills, I can hit over 40. You don't want me hitting a stroller, pedestrian, dog, etc. It will not end well.
7. In New York, where bike sharing has gone into effect, not a single fatality or significant traffic accident has been linked to the bikes. And it has taken a lot of cars off the roads.
8. If their pants are falling down, they need bib shorts. Mine don't fall down.
9. I am 100% totally completely biased on this subject and I know it. I try to always be a good cyclist. But think about how many asshole drivers you see every day. Now, you may see two cyclists on your drive and one is a jerk. So, that's a skewed sample. But yeah, there are jerk cyclists and other cyclists tend to call them out. Seriously, we will publicly shame them on social networks ("To the guy in the red kit on the green Trek this morning at the corner of Tally and Ho, you are the reason drivers hate us. Way to blaze through the light, dick.").
It may just be where I live but we have TONS of cyclists. That's why I thought this would be unpopular. Most of them don't follow rules. Sometimes they don't even ride in the bike lane. I agree that I would not want a person going that fast on the sidewalk. That's why I think the bike lane should be next to the side walk instead of on the street. There are places in Europe that have biking lanes and walking lanes. I'm also biased on the subject because I get cut off by bikers in my neighborhood everyday.

??
I think forcing schoolchildren to recite an oath of loyalty reeks of indoctrination. And that's not even getting into the addition of "Under God" part of it.
This. Our founding fathers wanted religion separate from government and then in the 50s they went and added god into the pledge. Ridiculous.
I'm speshul. I'm a teacher so I have (had) to hear it every single day. I would stand but never said it...I just can't. I've only had 2 students ever ask why and I've told them why I chose not to.

This is a tricky one. I have no problem as an adult now saying it (though I also disagree with the God part). But that's because now I do understand what I'm saying and agree with it. I don't think children should he forced to recite something they can't even fathom.
I mean, they could choose not to, too, but I've never had a student do that (well, at one school, at the other school I worked at, no one stood or recited it). I'm saying that I would stand and respectfully face the flag, but I wouldn't *say* the pledge.
Star Wars and Harry Potter DO NOT belong in the same category as Twilight. I know more than one person already said this, but it is worth saying again.
I love Star Wars and think it is highly imaginative and creative. Harry Potter is very well written, very imaginative and creative. Twilight is not literature, good writing, or imaginative.
UO- I never realized how many rebels are out there. So now this may be a unpopular opinion, but I am following all the doctors rules regarding dietary restrictions. Sorry! I promise I don't judge anyone who is eating a deli sandwich or sushi etc. I am sitting quietly in the corner drooling. Really I do miss WAWA hoagies. I just know that after 6 years of TTC it would be my luck to eat something and it harm the child.

All my respect to those who are extra cautious. I have no issues with that, it's the people who act all high and mighty about it and shove it in your face when you do something "wrong" in their eyes.
I'd rather see a woman with a little too much make up as opposed to no make up at all. I feel that only about 3.5% of the population can pull off the no make up look successfully.
I enjoy makeup but haven't worn it for weeks.
I look like a troll and I don't care.
I spend most of my mornings dry heaving and gagging and could care less about putting makeup on between my gagging, that and im having a psoriasis breakout on my eyes right now and I cant wear any eye makeup
Well-done steak is a sin (nothing against those of you who like it that way, but it makes me cry inside).
When I order a steak, I tell them to just walk it by the grill on the way out of the kitchen.
Although that sounds terrible right now. All I want in the world is carbs. Ooh, that reminds me! There's bagels and cinnamon rolls in the conference room.
I hate people who don't look where they are walking. I feel like they always target me.
I constantly have to stop walking/driving to prevent some asshat from walking into me. I especially love it when they hit me with their shopping carts!
some jackass in the parking lot today, just doh-dee-doh'ing around...get off the phone and get out of the way or im going to run your dumb ass over. UGH!

Adding to the grocery store UO, I hate when people just leave their shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot. It just sits there and blocks parking spaces or hits cars. If you can't bother to walk an extra 15 steps to put it in the cart return, at least put it against a curb where it won't roll all over the place!
This is a FFFC but I'm putting here instead because of the previous UO. I get teary eyed every time I hear the pledge of allegiance or national anthem. I didn't used to be like this it only started about a week or so before S deployed and it hasn't stopped since. I'm such a baby.
He has a nice body, but I don't think Adam Levine is all that hot.
I also don't think Ryan Gosling is a great actor.... I love The Notebook, but his role wasn't really that challenging. If you've ever seen Drive... ugh. Although I think a lot of what I didn't like about that movie probably had more to do with how the movie was directed as opposed to personal acting decisions.
And I get annoyed with people who post what annoys them about what other people post on Facebook and try to talk about a Facebook etiquette. There is plenty that annoys me about Facebook posts as well, but I think it's shitty to attempt to get people to stop doing Facebook how they do it because it annoys you. Part of me wants to post a Facebook post about it, but that would be hypocritical because I would be talking about what annoys me about people's Facebook posts as well! Not that it's not hypocritical here, but at least it isn't on Facebook, hah!
I wear makeup most days. Not because I feel like I can't "pull off" the makeup free look, but because I enjoy doing it. As one pp mentioned, it's a form of expression. That being said, I don't do it all the time and if that offends people, tough titties!
Kind of related, but my UO is that I hate when people say "putting my face on" when talking about putting their makeup on. I cringe every single time.
Oh another one speaking of Facebook- I hate when people like their own status. Why??? We know you like it because you posted it. Just don't thumbs up it.

This is why I have 95% of my friends hidden on Facebook lol.
My UO: I have never wanted to be a stay at home mom. Not that I can't, but I just don't want to.
**stuck in box **
Same. I've never had the desire to be a SAHM, even though I love DD to death. I love working and contributing to my family financially and I feel more productive that way. It just wouldn't make me happy to be at home and my child deserves a happy mom.
My UO: I've never considered being a parent a 'job' per say. It's absolutely work but I view it more as a choice than a job.
I'm sorry, I gotta call you on this. Being a SAHM is absolutely a job. A woman can choose which career she wants (corporate, retail, etc). If her life circumstances and preferences lead her to choose to SAH, it is no less a job with its own challenges and learning curve.
Also, while I adore staying at home with my children, if I had a choice I'd probably work. My health prevents that. And, some families can't afford child care. So it's not always a choice the way you mean it.
@Snickersforeveryone, Being a SAHM is definitely a job. My sister-in-law is a SAHM who also watches my daughter, and I can't believe how hard she works. I also agree that being a SAHM is also not a choice that everyone makes. I think your response is nicely worded.
Already sick of this ferguson coverage. I want to bow out of seeing anything involving an incredibly biased situation from all angles that the media turns into whatever they want it to be. I've become so numb to whatever is shown on the news because I have no fucking clue if even 5% of it is true.
Adding to this I don't understand how people can get so fired up and self righteous about what they "know" regarding the situation and causing arguments with people using fucking twitter as their citation source.
I think social media has severely impacted the idea of us being able to be progressive on civil issues. No one can take a step ahead because they can't believe a word of what's actually going on.
On the topic of book-writing (badass that we have some writers here!!!)...
FFTC: I have an idea for a horribly smutty erotic romance novel. I really want to write it, and I feel like it could be an awesome idea... but I'm worried if I start writing it C will judge me lol
If FSOG got published, seriously, my book idea would blow that out of the water.

All I have for an UO is food related.
I don't like frozen drinks like slushies, frappuccinos, or Eegges.
I do like smoothies though.
