My UO - I am sort of hoping to be induced because it will be easier for childcare instead of finding someone to watch our kids in the middle of the night or spur of the moment.

My inlaws came to town and we don't have any dessert around because of my GD. They went out and bought a bunch of ice cream and ate it in front of me at every meal  >:P

Not really a UO I guess, unless you consider my opinion that everyone around me should suffer too as a UO lol.

I can't get into Orange is the New Black. I know a lot of you guys die hard love it. I was trudging through it, and I gave up. Too much for this lady.

Sometimes I worry that too many rainbows and unicorns lead to group think which stifles and impedes discussion & honesty. (Maybe this is actually a FFFC?)  I'm obviously a huge proponent of giving and receiving support, but sometimes I do sigh a bit.

I don't think that is flame worthy. Civilly discussing issues is important.
I just don't know that the issues that come up here are particularly necessary of discussion and honesty...
The serious issues have gotten some serious arguments in the past.

Meh, I don't think it's that we're too nice for drama. I see it more as we hashed out a lot of UOs and FFFC early on and bringing up the same topics gets boring, redundant and frustrating.

I pretty much hate all television right now. Every evening when my husband asks me what I want to watch, I'm like "NOT A DAMN THING!" I just want to enjoy the quiet while I can.

As someone who lives in the St. Louis metropolitan area and works in the City... There are two groups of people in this situation.  The people of Ferguson who are truly upset and wanting justice for Mike Brown and demonstrate peacefully and then the individuals who are using this as an excuse to rob local businesses and lash out both at police and reporters.  A lot of the individuals causing violence are not even from Ferguson.  It's sad that these violent people are making the rest of Ferguson and even St. Louis look like they solve their own problems by destroying their own community.  No one is coming out of this as a winner.

Until we face the realities of our society and work to change our fears and prejudices, how can any of this change? It will be another city and another story in a short time.

We have had some pretty heated discussions here. I've noticed that we go in cycles. When we've had too much drama, we tend to opt for love tits.

Not sure what else we could really discuss that we haven't already in the last 8 months.

Though, now's the time to bring up some of those sighable offenses since it's apparently unpopular.

Out of all the peaceful and positive things happening there, they have chosen to focus on the handful of persons taking the negative route. And while I personally wouldn't be out there looting and destroying my surroundings..I do understand that they are grieving, scared, angry, and need to pour their frustrations out somewhere. It interesting to see what people are capable of doing and how far they are willing to go when they seemingly have nothing to lose...

My UO is that I hate the beach.

I hate sand - it gets in your bathing suit so you have sand crotch. Oh you need to put shoes on? Enjoy the sand between your feet and sandals OW!
Long walks on the beach? Yuck. Sandy, salty, wind blown hair plus it hurts your calves like no other trudging through the sand.

I hate the beach.

Television pretty much sucks right now - for current shows that I watch, I'm only down to Parks and Rec.  I'm going to have to find something to watch by the time DS2 arrives...

Maybe it is just me but I think that most things I read just aren't worth getting worked up over?  Even some of the more heated discussions, I just sort of read and think "Oh, good for you," roll my eyes and move on?  I don't have the energy for debates and they tend to move so fast that by the time I form coherent thoughts I'm like 45680 posts behind. 

Maybe a UO or FFFC but I really don't get worked up over all the PC stuff that we tend to react to as a group.  I don't care if someone says something stupid once - I'm not going to go all crazy on one comment.  However if you have a history of making stupid comments, or only come her for the purpose of fanning the (very small) flames we do have - well, then I will take the time.

I'm no fan of either as well. Plus Jay Z gets probably close to 50% or more of his rhymes from other (mostly dead) rappers. He's seriously ripped off all of Biggie's and Tupac's verses over the years.

If the two of them were still alive, Jay Z would be a nobody right about now! 

And while I think Beyonce is talented, I just can't get into her music. It's like the same thing over and over, there's no maturity in it. It sounds like the same music she was putting out 10 years ago. Clearly it's working for her, but I just can't get with it. Plus she seems so vapid, I just can't take her seriously.

I agree.
If people want to debate legit issues, I am all for it. As I said, I haven't seen things lately that have been argument worthy. Registries and many parenting choices are not my hill to die on.

Education issues? Prejudice/racism etc yeah I am not going to be quiet on that.

Agreed! Although I will say Dr. Dre is not a rapper in my opinion. He's probably never written a rhyme in his life. His whole career he's had ghost writers. I'd add Mos Def or Talib Kweli in his spot.

I'm fine with my sighs!  The culture of the board is what it is and developed because the members wanted it to be that way, which is then exactly how it should be as it was created by the bumpies for the bumpies (hehe).

Wow, well I guess we'll have to agree to disagree....
But I will say that there is a reason why Jay has been listed in the top 10 rappers alive every year since 1999.
