VENT: I'm tired of people doing genetic testing just to find out the sex.
Yup. I don't mind if you find out the sex from those tests WHILE TESTING FOR GENETIC/DIAGNOSTIC ISSUES, but the people who are only doing it for the sex are missing the boat, here.
And this is from someone who is paying for an elective 16w u/s to find out. But I'm going to a commercial place and not driving up health costs through it.
Exactly. I have a friend who is a PA for an OBGYN and if my doctor didn't TELL me to come in for the 16 week ultrasound, I would be going to her after hours to learn the sexes But like you said, not driving up healthcare costs with it.

Twins? You mean two babies? WOW!
Team PURPLE!!
We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
So my boss decided to come talk to me right as I was doubled over with ligament pain. No he thinks somethings wrong and is sending me home right after lunch I should be ashamed....but I'm not
I'm still not 'out' about the pregnancy. I'm not sure we are going to make an announcement. Life is too complicated right now, and baby makes it more complicated. We don't need people knowing. This makes me very sad. I feel like it makes me less excited about it.
I was playing around with some pictures we took and made this... but Im so nervous about posting it public. I dont think Im ready. But I think I'll feel better by posting it here and letting you all see it. I think Im going to change the pictures though.
(I know it has my last name, but its such a common name Im too worried about it)

I don't think it makes you less excited. I think it just makes it different. Everyone has their own way of doing this crazy thing and you do it how it feels best to YOU. Nobody else matters. I almost regretted posting our reveal photos on FB. It was overwhelming and made me really anxious. I actually had to close the computer for a few hours after I did it. So I really don't blame you at all! Do what's right for YOU!

Morningggg all! I'm rolling into work a little late this morning because we don't have a meeting, so I'm sitting here blissfully with my coffee!
My random thought for the day (so far): a friend liked a picture on facebook that popped up in my newsfeed--a cute couple holding a cake that read "Baby Blank Due March 29, 2015." And I'm all......wait a minute. Wait. That's after Feb 28......and I'm only 11 weeks. What the fuck?? Is that super early to anyone else???
There is a girl I work with who is 3.5wks behind me- she announced at like 7wks (we announced at 12). Super super early!! I was shocked at her announcement especially since they are super high risk. I probably would have waited much longer if it hadn't been eating everyone else alive to tell people!
omg its 10:01 and quiznos isnt open. wtf people wtf your hours say 10!

A friend of mine announced at 5 weeks! I was surprised, but to each their own. I announced at 8 weeks with DD and waited until 10 weeks this time.
F15 Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most After Baby Arrives: BELLY SLEEPING!
I'm lurking over from the March2015 board. Just had our ultrasound this week and I am now due Feb 25th. But I had a 'friend' on facebook announce her pregnancy about 2 weeks ago... her due date is April 5th!! I don't think the pee stick was even dry by the time is was on facebook...
One of my fb friends just posted her announcement for April '15. I think she did it so that she could do a photo shoot. She's one of those people who owns a camera so she is automatically a photographer and she is super proud of her "business" which mainly consists of taking pictures of her daughter and spamming up fb with ideas she got off Pinterist. (Please note that I am not against having a photography business, but you at least have to have clients and take decent pictures. Also, I love when my friends post pics of their kids, but she is very excessive.)
I've seen 3 people due around/after me that annouced at like, 7wks. I'm not that damn brave. We just told extened family yesterday at 15wks and I'm sitting here freaked out that we jinxed ourselves. Like on Thurs the ultrasound is going to reveal something horrible. Ugh. Fuck anxiety. I guess after Thurs we'll announce to the world????
@jaztaz1 - love it! The tie breaker is a cute idea!!
@CrazyCornball - I have one today too and I am excited/anxious too.
I have IF brain and was used to an ultrasound every week (yes I know very spoiled) and now none for 4 weeks. I'm only getting one so they can check on my SCH. We're doing the Harmony test today too, but if everything looks good we'll probably announce today. It is getting hard to hide.
I made gumbo last night and brought some for lunch today. I have been holding myself back from scarfing it since 9:30 telling myself I have to wait until at LEAST 11:30. I have a meeting that will end at 11:30 and I may just tell the guy I have another appointment if he tries to run late. An appointment with my lunch. Priorities!
I think it's a personal choice as to when someone makes their announcement public. I had wanted up wait awhile before posting it but my husband & 9 year old were telling anyone who would listen. Some people are very excited & can't wait to share their news. Others have experienced miscarriages & Woolf rather keep it a secret until the risk lessens. I don't want to hate on anyone who's over the moon about their baby news. It's a little annoying sure. But no more than me posting on Facebook about how I freaking hate morning sickness!!
As for when to tell... I always say that its a personal choice. My first pregnancy we announced at 8wks. This time... DH wants to spill the beans now, but I would like to wait a little while longer. Maybe until 16wks or so. If you've seen me, you probably guessed it already. But close family knew this time at 6wks, close friends found out somewhere between 6-10wks.

@jaztaz1 LOVE the announcement. It is adorable. Ill still never understand how you live with a ravens fan.. but that annoucement is fantastic!
Ps- when your ready and you actually post your announcement to the world you'd be surprised how liberating it is.. its like a giddy, nervous, freeing, rush lol
We told parents right after BFP. We told all other family after hearing the heartbeat. We still are not facebook official and when we were telling family we made sure everyone knew not to put anything on facebook about it. We will probably go facebook official after the anatomy scan so it can be "we are expecting" plus "its a boy/girl" rolled all into one. There was a few people we told really early. One of my best friends since high school and my cousin. Well my mom told my cousin. Her twin boys are 3 1/2 and they were having a garage sale getting rid of all the baby stuff. We were going to go buy stuff like a high chair, swings, pack n play, and some clothes for "a friend" and my mom couldn't keep her mouth shut! Plus I think my cousin is smarter than that. I was about 6 weeks then.

In 3 days I'll be a wife! Ahhh! It's like really setting in. Not looking forward to changing my name on 8 million documents though.

We have the same last name....No one will every find us
@raztaz09 your announcement is so creative and cute! I agree with pps--it is liberating when you finally announce. I'll admit I jumped the gun when I found out at 8.5 weeks I was having twins. Posted my sonogram pic with status: "I have two peas in my pod." Was just so excited and not thinking too logically at the time! I did wait a few weeks to post the pic (so was 10-11 weeks), but in retrospect I would have waited longer. We're not announcing this one until we know the gender.
I am fixing some Ramen noodles for lunch. I couldn't wait and had to binge on Cheeto's as I waited. Yea, I am so healthy with this pregnancy. When I'm hungry, it's like I must eat NOW!

It is a pain. Took a few months to get most of them. I still have a few I need to change - and it's been almost 2 years. Some places will need a copy of your marriage license. I can't remember if the SS office or the DMV was easier. Good luck!
SS you can do through the mail or online. You don't have to go in person for that. You have go in person for passport and DMV. It's not that bad took me about a day to do DMV and Passport. Can't do them though untill SS. As soon as you get Marriage license do SS.
I'm trying to decide if I should take a half day today. I usually try to sneak out to my doctors appts on my lunch "hour", but my appt isn't until 1:45. Who knows how long it will take, plus then I have to have the giant blood draw. I need to decide in the next half hour...and think of a reason that I need to leave...HMMM.
Good luck cornball! Update us and I would just say that you're not feeling well. LOL. You do live life on the edge, huh?
"As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen." -Winnie The Pooh
I did SS and dmv both in person on the same day. I totally would have thought the longer wait would be at SS boy was I wrong. SS office took approx. 45 min. DMV= 3 hrs.
@WanderingA I was wondering how long it took for it to go from a step or two to full on toddler craziness. Hes a super fast crawler so.. yeah im frightened.
I think I might just own the only corgi that doesn't like food. She only weighs 18lbs and I always joke about her being skinny, but today I noticed she looked extra thin. Instead of eating her food she hides it, or she flips her bowl over. We have tried every food imaginable, no changes. Our vet isn't concerned as long as she comes in for her yearly blood work, but I feel like people think we are bad dog owners. Just to add our other dog is very plump and never misses meals and even eats up the mess that the corgi makes.
@jaztaz1 That was so cute it hit me right in the hormones.
My cousin announced the day after she got the BFP and posted a 4 week u/s (she's high risk). I almost fell over laughing because no one knew how to react since there really isn't anything to see but a tiny dot. I think she's nuts to announce that soon but she's happy so it doesn't matter.
I've been telling family 1 by 1 since I'm 14 weeks now. At DS' a b-day party my aunt asked when I planned on having another kid. Perfect opening, her chin hit the floor when I said February.
So this is a total random post.

Our dogs are like this, too. They're litter mates (schnauzer/beagle/jack russel mix), but completely different dogs. Curly refuses to eat some days. They are schedule-fed and they only get one bowl of food after our dinner. If there are no table scraps in the bowl, Curly turns his nose up and walks away.
Doug will eat anything and everything that crosses his path. He is VERY beagle (apparently eating like a glutton is a beagle trait). He'll eat his food, then go and eat Curly's if that bowl still has food in it.
Curly is still quite a trim dog, but Doug is overweight. The vet was surprised at how different the two of them are from each other (especially for being from the same litter).

Is she older or younger?
My rat terrier started only eating the food that dropped out of the great dane's mouth. Which can sometimes be a substantial mess. He would leave the food in his bowl for a week at a time before we'd dump it in the great dane's bowl. He's been doing this for about a year and I thought maybe the great dane slobber made it softer and easier for him to chew. Lately, the food in his bowl has been disappearing and I thought the great dane was eating it, but now the rat terrier is getting a little chunky so I guess he's back to eating his own food as well as what he can get from the great dane. Go figure.
I'm sitting here at the doctor for I believe, my eighth ultrasound because of bleeding. Then getting labwork to check my antibodies and see if I need another rhogam shot. I'm not worried about the bleeding since I'm pretty much used to it now...but the whole thing is still stressful.
Re: Spammin' Monday Fun!
@CrazyCornball Good luck!! It's all going to be okay in there.. Keep us updated..FX
