I just use the Osocozy flannel wipes. They're cheap and I love them. Well, I bought some at full price, but then doubled my stash when osocozy had 55% off last December, so those were dirt cheap then.
I made my own out of flannel. Super easy and cheap. I cut them into 8 1/2 inch squares and overstiched around the edges or you can zig-zag around the edges too.
I was just coming on here to rave about the wipes I just got from the Etsy story Tender Bottoms! They're flannel on one side and terry cloth on the other. From what I've read, the terry cloth is best for clean up and the flannel works for drying to prevent rashing. I am a FTM and my baby isn't even here yet so I can't attest to how they'll work but dang are they cute (she let me pick all my own patterns) and affordable! I paid $25.75 including shipping for 30 wipes. They are adorable and seem well made.
I made double-sided cotton velour wipes. It's a bit overkill, but they are so soft! I agree on the 8x8 size because they'll fit in an old Huggies wipes container to stack on the changing table.
Cotton velour. I had them custom made and I love them. You can find tons of listings on Etsy or you can probably make them yourself if you're so inclined. They're 8x8.
I love cotton velour wipes and flannel. I alternate them every few wipes when I am folding and putting them away, so I have what I need. The flannel I find is better for heavy duty cleanups, and the cotton velour is just so soft on his booty.
Re: Cloth wipes
It just cleans better.
