High-Risk Pregnancy

IUGR at 28 weeks

Hi everyone. I'm 41 and this is my first pregnancy. Had my first biophysical yesterday and while baby had been measuring fine (have had 6 us due to high-risk) now her head and stomache measurements are 2-3 weeks behind & I have low amniotic fluid. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this? I'm getting excellent care from the hospital but I'd love to hear from other moms who have been or are currently going thru this. Tia!

Re: IUGR at 28 weeks

  • I had both issues with my DD. They noticed the fluid at 23 weeks and then noticed the growth at 26. They followed me every 2 weeks to check levels and placenta function and I was put on moderate activity. I went on a few high risk boards and noticed that a lot of the ladies there were told to pack in the protein so thats what I did. Two ensure shakes a day and all the other protein I could get in. My OB said it probably wouldnt make a difference but I got her to OVER 6lbs when I delivered (heavier then my DS who wasnt resticted) so for me I think I did the right thing since every appointment she was gaining fast, not me but HER so *shrugs* for me I think the advise the other ladies were getting was better then what my OB gave, plus the extra protein couldnt hurt the situation any so I had nothing lose in trying.
