  • I typically workout at a crossfit style gym (functional fitness gym) and things had gotten increasingly more difficult, so I had to put my PT on hold. Im so sad. I was just overhead squatting 10 weeks ago, and it was just getting so uncomfortable. Plus theres no AC, and this pregnant princess was miserable and couldn't complete workouts just from that! ha!
    For now, my DH and I are walking the trails by our house and Ive got a nice set of kettle bells for a little weight training!

  • How are your workouts going? Going well. Still running or doing weight training 4-5x/wk. My pelvis is definitely sore today from yesterday's run though so I might have to slow it down even more.

    What are your plans for your workouts during 3rd tri? I'm going to run as long as I can but will probably need to slow it down to a walk pretty soon. I was surprised by the soreness today even though my run wasn't anything crazy yesterday. 

    Any exciting news? Raves/rants? Get to see baby on u/s in a few hours! On the exercise front, I had to stop running at 27 weeks when I was pregnant with DS. I am now 3 weeks past that with this pregnancy and it feels good. 

    GTKY: What is the biggest thing you have left to get done or accomplish before baby comes? I want to take a bf'ing class at the end of this month. I think that's the most important thing left for me.

  • My workouts are not going well at all! After hearing a pack of coyotes yipping and howling early one morning, I decided that those walks with my small dog were probably not the best idea. Also, my feet and back are killing me, and my new pregnancy trick seems to be having low blood pressure spells from my anemia, which kicks in when I over exert myself doing things like freaking grocery shopping and coking dinner. So about all I'm up for right now is a little low-intensity yoga. This stinks, but I know I'll be back to working out like a maniac in a few months.

    We still have a lot to do to get ready for this kid! Like just about everything!

  • How are your workouts going? They're still going ok so far.  The walking/stationary biking is fine.  Definitely slowing down during the Zumba workouts though, and my lower back/sciatic are starting to bother me.

    What are your plans for your workouts during 3rd tri?  Planning on chugging along as long as I still feel ok. Adding in some more stretches for my back now too.

    Any exciting news? Raves/rants? Just started my every 2 week appointments.  Can't believe I'm at that point already!

    GTKY: What is the biggest thing you have left to get done or accomplish before baby comes?  I have to finish redoing the dresser for the nursery and get some artwork up.  We also have a few things left to purchase as well (especially the car seat!)

  • vrj0522 I had to give up running completely because of pelvic pain.  :(  It bums me out, but I'm still working out, which I'm thankful for!  I'm doing strength training, cardio and PiYo, which is awesome!

    I had to give up on running a few weeks ago. The combo of the heat and the baby hanging out right on top of my bladder was just too much. It took me a little while to figure out how to replace it, but I'm in a good groove now. I'm doing a Pilates classes once a week and a yoga class 1-2 times a week. In between I've been doing workout DVDs. I'm really liking Suzanne Bowen Long and Lean -- it's a tough workout! Also trying to add in extra walking with the dog or to classes. I walk about 1 mile in total getting to and from the subway and to work every day so that helps a bit too.

    No exciting news yet. Just waiting to see results from Fridays glucose test and we have childbirth class this weekend.

    I'm still trying to figure out right now if I want to take a hypnobirthing class or not and I'm quickly running out of time to decide!

  • Still doing CrossFit several times a week. Getting harder at the end of my work days as i work 10 hours a day with 3 hour drive time. 586 854 1431 get a little sore afterwards and slowing down for sure! But um still moving and in my opinion that is all that matters! My job is physical so this helps me keep going at my 31 weeks.
    Lol we have the whole baby room to do still. Oops!

    Mine are going fairly well. Honestly, I'm only walking right now, but I make sure I walk 3 miles every day.

    What are your plans for your workouts during 3rd tri?
    I want to try and keep up with my 3 miles at least 4 times a week, if not every day. I'm starting to get pain in my heels and my joints, so I'll see how long I can keep it up.

    Any exciting news? Raves/rants? 
    My only rant is that my mom is here now and she really discourages me from any kind of exercise because she thinks I need to relax. It can be frustrating, because I know my limits and all I'm doing is walking to try and stay active.

    GTKY: What is the biggest thing you have left to get done or accomplish before baby comes? 
    Mine isn't work out related, but we need to figure out our finances. I know that sounds huge, but DH and have yet to figure out how we want to deal with our finances after marriage. We've always had a joint account that pays bills, and then kept our money separate. He makes twice as much as I do, and I feel like I'm starting to resent him for not paying more of the joint bills. I don't know how to work it all out, but I think that is our biggest hurdle.

  • Workouts have been ok. I only had one last week because we were out of town and I had to travel to a gym that had kettlebells but did tons of walking, this week I've had this stomach bug thing so while I'm feeling more energy, I'm still eating light and don't know that I'm ready for a kb workout yet. I plan to keep up 2-3x/ week of kettlebells as long as I can plus walking. Rave: still doing a Turkish get up (weird exercise with a kb over head) with 30 lbs and last week was able to use a 44 lb bell for swings for 10 minutes (100 total). Rant: starting to have pain in between my legs when walking. Hoping when I get back to workouts that it doesn't keep me from it. To accomplish: we've done nothing about a nursery. It's still set up like a guest room.
