It strikes me that there are a lot of J14 babies with reflux bit I'm curious about actual numbers.

He's definitely got it but so far we've been able to avoid meds. I think it's time, though, so I'll be seeing his pedi today.

A weird thing came up in my previous BMB about a link between reflux and getting antibiotics for being GBS+ while in labor. My son had reflux and I got the antibiotics my DD doesn't have reflux and I didn't need the antibiotics. Maybe a link or maybe nothing?

My daughter has reflux but I did NOT have GBS.

B is on meds but we aren't sure if he has reflux yet, just doing a trial.

Reflux no meds yet but we will get them at his 2 month appt so he can start sleeping in his crib and not the swing.

He's on Prevacid, but I'm not convinced it's reflux. I'm going to talk to ped today about slowing discontinuing it.

We got meds and it has improved his sleep at night as well as less extreme spit up. He does choke and gag on his spit ups when he is laying down or being held which scares me out of trying to go without medication.

For what it is worth I did not have GBS or antibiotics during labor.

LO was on Zantac and is now on prevacid.  Both my kids had pretty bad reflux, and I did not have GBS antibiotics.

I think my LO was spitting up because of dairy; I cut it out of my diet and she has almost completely stopped spitting up.

As of an hour ago my vote changes to on meds.

I was so hopeful she wouldn't have it since Lincoln had it so bad. But, not only does she have it but hers manifests very differently from Lincoln's. Lincoln would projectile vomit across the room thirty times a day. Remington does spit up but not violently. Her issue was visible discomfort with gasping.

@MrsCase1‌ that's how both my babies manifested it. The non spit up way. Its so sad to watch them like that!

I think he has reflux but he's only just started spitting up. More of a rattle during and after eating and raspiness. We have our checkup on Thursday and will speak to the pedi about it then.

DD has it and is on meds. How many mamas were on meds for reflux while pregnant?

Both my girls have/had it. DD1 had it really bad and was on meds for over a year. DD2 has a mild case and so far we've been good just using gripe water, colic calm and fenil tea.

Just had dr appt today. Going to do a trial of Zantac for a week to se if it helps. She is very gassy and spits up a lot. So we will see if it helps if not will go off the meds.
We do use gripe water and it seems to help a little bit.

She has reflux I don't doubt that at all but I don't think the ped will prescribe meds since she is gaining plenty of weight. I will ask about it again at her 2 mth appt this week.

How do you know the difference between excessive spitting up and reflux? Calling the Pedi today. I feel like I need to do something to help my little guy.

@QT3.14‌ we got meds even though he'sa chunk.

@purtz‌ does he arch his back at all? Rand gulpomg after eating, lots of hiccups, does the spot up bother him? Those tend to be the main symptoms.
