I have always wanted our girl names to go together and our boy names to go together, and all of them to make sense together.
We do two middle names for each child, to honor both sides of the family.
DD is Nora Alice Gayle (her initials spell NAG, and with our last name, it's NAGS. I know. I know. I fretted over it for a long time. But I absolutely love her name and meanings of her all her names, and I figure she'll own it and can use only one middle name if she wants to, and there's a lot of worse things to be called than nags lol). Alice is my MIL's middle name and Gayle is my mom's middle name.
For this baby: Boy: Ronan John Rodney (John is my dad's name and Rodney is FIL's name) Girl: Ilona Julia Fern (Julia was DH's Great-Grandma's name, and Fern was my grandma's name).

Ronan is an epic level name! I am biased though, DS is Ronan Ray Patrick. We do 2 middle names too.
Are any 2nd, 3rd+ time moms looking for some sort of symmetry when naming the new baby? Not rhyming necessarily or with a shared initial, just something that fits. I don't know how to better describe it.
DD has an old-fashioned first name, which shares a first initial with DH's first name. I want nubaby to have a classic/old fashioned name as well, but it must start with the same first initial as my name.
Also, word to the wise - people are lazy as hell, so if you give you child a long name, they will do everything in their power to nickname your kiddo, whether you want them to or not. There is absolutely no subtle way to get them not to. If you want your daughter to be called Charlotte and not Charlie or Robert and not Bobby, you have to fully confront people and say so. To this day I am still fighting with relatives about using DD's full name and not a shortened version that I don't like.
**Yes...we're looking to have a name that "matches" DD's. Her name is Quinn. It's not feminine or frilly, so we want another girl's name in the same style. I like Teagan and DH loves Paige. Both are pretty but not at all frilly and they go well with big sis Quinn. We're still stuck on boys names. Owen is a name we both agreed on but I don't like how popular it is. If it's a boy, it will probably just end up being named after DH and my dad.
Since we had been trying for so long I feel like our "Names List" has changed so many times! Right now the names I like best are Morgan for a girl and Caleb for a boy.
Now, the boy's name is where it gets complicated and I could use advice. DH and I are COMPLETELY at odds on the boy name. The topic has been off the table for discussion since it always ends up in an argument. DH's grandfather was Thomas Christopher, DH's father is Christopher Thomas...DH's name is Thomas Christopher. You see where I'm going with this. Not to mention...my grandfather, father, and brother are all named Thomas! lol So DH wants to keep the tradition going with yet ANOTHER Christopher Thomas. I just can't do it. Not to mention he has not had the best relationship with his family over the years and they've done some really shitty things to him.
I can't stand the name Christopher (no offense to anyone, its just not what I ever imagined my son being named). I love the name Oliver ("Ollie") and have tried meeting in the middle and suggesting Thomas or *shudder* Christopher as a middle name. But nope, he won't budge.
Our names are picked, Boy is simple Todd Michael II after Daddy(perfect middle name because like Everyone has Michael in their name in our male family, H's dad and other boys, my dad and brother).
For the girl, Genesis Rose ( Rose after me and my grandmother). LOVE LOVE LOVE this name!
Our girl name is Emory - we can't decide on a middle name? And our boy name is William Sanders and we will call him Sanders. William is my husbands first name.
We have Elle as an option, but for boys names were out. We had a hard time coming up with DS name. "E" represents both of our grandmothers, so we really want something with "E" for a girl. DS is Owen Emmett.
@dreemkin84we were going for "Pry - Sun" for the pronunciation. We figured the "y" instead of 'i" would help with the "pry" pronunciation, long "i" sound.
F15 January Siggy Challenge: What I'm Looking Forward to After the Babies Arrive Bringing them both home...UPDATE...The girls are home!!! 1/7/15 after 20 days in the NICU!
I've got a Willow Jocelyn right now and if its a boy we'll go with Silas Benjamin (although I'd like to change the middle name to Kenneth for my dad)
We're screwed if it's a girl because we couldn't decide on the first one until the middle of 7 months.
I find the best naming advice to be this: yell out the whole name at the top of your lungs. If it comes out easy without you tripping over it, thats a good name.

FWIW @PeaceofKia, I read it as price-n with a long i...
@foxslaw What my sister in law did was give her daughter her last name until they were married, then she just went through the name change process for them both at one time. I definitely think this was a great choice!

@lynnlynn21 IM SO GLAD IM NOT ALONE!! I feel guilt ridden, but there's no way (if it's a boy) my son is David Lee. DH is a Jr and he wants a full blown David Lee the third. Juniors are kind of a tradition in his family but not in mine at all. We use middle names to honor people. That being said, I'm *working on* being ok with David as a middle name. Idk if it's selfish. I'm working on it myself! I intend on waiting until we know for sure that it's a boy before I really start any fights.
For a boy, we agree on a name. For a girl, we're still debating.
Boy: Raffaello Gary (FI's father and my father)
Girl: Annabella (I love the name Bella but Bella in Italian means "beautiful", so Annabella so she's not tormented at school), Aurora or Giulia.
Since we had been trying for so long I feel like our "Names List" has changed so many times! Right now the names I like best are Morgan for a girl and Caleb for a boy.
For a boy we have Bishop Asher. It was to be DDs name if she was a boy, so we'll stick with that because it took us forever. If its another girl, it will probably come down to either Temperance or Aurora middle name will be Lenore.
I reserve the right to change my mind as i've been obbsessed with the name Wilhelmina

And I love Olliver as a name
Phew! So happy you know what I'm going through! And I know what you mean about waiting until you find out for sure if its a boy too...fingers crossed for you! lol
DS is Grayson Charles. We've talked about Scarlett if we have a girl. But the only thing holding us back on that is being Ohio State fans. Their colors are scarelt and gray. We aren't trying to go for that because it's a little cheesy. And we live in Michigan, which the kids would get made fun of for having Ohio State colors as their names.
I'm a fourth time mom...secretly wishing for a girl so my only daughter has a sister. I need help on names. I already have a Garrett Edward, Maddox Anthony, and Hadley Nicole. All middle names are family names. I have lists of probably 15 names for each a boy and girl. HELP! Not that I'm in any rush (13w5d) but I'm a planner and it driving me nuts!

I love Maddox for a girl. I think it's one of the non gender specific names.
Well I decided to not name my baby boy after his father because he's not in my life and I'm a young teen mom also I find it that my son would feel that he needs to be just like his dad and or intimidated. I don't know what I'm having yet but I thought Iris Mae Or Iris Evelyn for Mae is my best friends middle naw and Evelyn is my grandmothers. For a boy Isaiah Lee. Or Ozias Lee pronounced as (Oh Zy Us) very unique in my opinion .
For girls we like Paisley Mae, & Presley Ann. I really like Olive but I know it won't fly with my hubs. We are having a hard time agreeing on boys. So far Knox, Connor, Jackson and Weston.
This is our third and I've got nothin. We throw names out there, but we both veto each other's names! I love all the Charlottes as possibilities, that's our DD1!
My husband has had the name Serenity Jade chosen for a girl for a really long time. We would call her Jade, which I LOVE.
And for now, we both really like the name Corbin Dallas. Im probably going to change my mind at some point, but we've kinda been stuck on them for a while so I guess we'll have to wait and see!
I love everything about those names! Is you hubby a nerd by any chance? BecaSuzuki uguy6guse it would make total sense. I'm a little jealous for not thinking of Corbin Dallas myself. Awesome!
Sorry, just now seeing this @jenwilhoite! But yes! Its his favorite movie actually! ;)ft
Since I've basically had baby names planned out since my high school years I can't bring myself to change it.
Girl: Kristine Annette Boy: Jacob Kitt
So excited to find out what the gender is First Pregnancy! !! Too excited
Edited: I'm also excited cause if my baby is a girl the nickname will be KP (Kim possible) (my last and SO last initial is P) I have so many nicknames for her but KP is super cute and kind of kick ass
we've decided that if baby is a boy, his name will definitely be Reid Bennett. Bennett is my MIL's maiden name. We've only agreed on one girl name so far, Caroline Rose. Thoughts?
Love your unique, as well as traditional and family names!
DH and I had two boy names picked out already when we thought we were having twin boys. (Wishful thinking?) If this one is a boy, it'll be Cyrus William. We both like the first name since it is uncommon, and the middle name is for my late dad and DH's late grandfather. If it's a girl, we might name her Sabra Isabell but aren't 100% certain about either name. We would like a name that goes well with Summer and Scarlett, our twins.

DS#2 - Due 2/11/15
Girl: Jordan, Riley, Blythe, Cameron, Mackenzie or Reese
Boy: Carter, Ethan, or Levi
We have a really common last name so I'd like the first name to be a little unique, but still easy to spell and pronounce.
