What vegetables does your LO eat?

I tried searching for vegetables in June 13, but it didn't work out...

Benjamin was great at eating pureed vegetables, but we're basically entirely on solids at this point and he isn't really eating many vegetables. He seems to think peas are gross, even though he loves pureed peas. Same thing with green beans. Sometimes he'll eat edamame. What non-pureed vegetables are you getting into your kids?

His diet generally consists of plain yogurt, cheerios, applesauce, bananas, cherries, clementines, whatever fruit is around, toast, bread, peanut butter, cheese, and buttered noodles. I've been giving him some pureed vegetables occasionally, just to get him to eat a vegetable. He's pretty good about eating whatever we eat for dinner, but we've been going out a lot lately and ordering from the (very boring) kids' menu and giving him some of whatever food we have that he can actually eat safely.

Re: What vegetables does your LO eat?

  • I think part of it may just be that I'm too nervous about anything with skin since he just got his first four teeth this summer.

He's pretty good at spoon feeding himself at this point, so that isn't as much of an issue. Mixing it with the noodles is a good idea, though.

  • Peas, corn and sweet potato are favourites. Steamed cauliflower and green beans are sometimes acceptable. And french fries, which I will count as a vegetable. She also eats the Dr. Prager spinach pancakes.

She won't eat carrots, zucchini, or broccoli.

  • Mine will eat corn, tomatoes, cucumber and zucchini, all only sometimes.
  • Steamed broccoli, steamed cauliflower, cooked carrots, green beans, peas, corn, potatoes. As long as he sees us eating it then he is usually pretty good about eating it. But if he sees strawberries then all bets are off and all he'll eat is the strawberries. We're working on that one lol

  • LO used to be great at eating vegetables - now, not so much.

He'll eat some of these only sometimes:

    Asparagus
    Broccoli
    Bell Peppers
    Peas
    Corn
    Carrots

    And that's about it.

He eats fruit like a champ though, so I try not to worry about it.

  • Don't shy away from things because of teeth! :)  The molars are the chewing teeth and all the babies in this group are probably only just starting (maybe) to get them.  He likes roasted veggies better than any other version.  He eats broccoli, cauliflower, squash and zucchini all roasted.  He eats steamed peas and edamame (is that a veggie?  I don't even know lol).  I know these don't technically count but he also loves the sweet orange grape tomatoes and corn on the cob.  Holy hell does he chow corn on the cob.

  • Peas, broccoli, bell peppers, green beans (depending on her mood), corn, all kinds of potatoes

She won't eat plain veggies anymore so we flavor with lemon juice or a dip or something.

  • DD will pretty much eat whatever veggie we give her, prepared in any way. It would probably be easier to list what she doesnt like, which so far is avocados and mushrooms.

  • She prefers veggies over fruit.  She will eat zucchini, carrots, peas, green beans, squash, sweet potato and corn.  I haven't tried broccoli yet but I think I will since it sounds like all the babies like it.

  • Zucchini, broccoli, corn, carrots and mushrooms are his favorites.

He just recently started to not be Into potatoes anymore and cauliflower.

He tried beets last night but didn't love them.
