To those that ENJOY eating healthy

I bow down to you.

I envy you.

I wish I was you.

My salad, while yummy, would be better with a giant cheeseburger (no tomato) from Sonic.

I had to eat an MSPI diet for DD for most of her life so far. It was kind of tough because it was limiting but I have been eating so much healthier. The GI specialist just gave me the go ahead to add dairy and soy back into my diet and I tried a couple of things that I was really looking forward to being able to eat and I hated it. My stomach really does better without a lot of dairy. So in that way, I find it easier to eat healthier when it doesn't taste good and makes me feel yucky. But don't try and get me to give up on eating chips haha those things are my weakness!

  • I am right there with you, CW. Honestly, I've been eating healthier than I probably ever have in my life -- however, every time we order pizza and wings (like we did on Saturday evening), I realize how much I miss it. And would eat it every day if I could.

Cheeseburger, fried mushrooms, and crispy chicken tenders are my downfall.

Healthy food might be yummier if I didn't have to make it. Know what I mean?

  • I agree! Love the crappy food way too much! I'm hoping when DD starts eating what we eat it will force me to eat healthier more often.

  • I hear u, I actually have never eaten this healthy since pregnancy I think it is of course all I think about is that it's good for the baby. I actually weaned myself off of Breastfeeding, been done for a week now. My supply was never good after I went back to work and I catch myself eating more junk food now. Yup give me that fricken cheeseburger, chocolate and the list goes on ha ha!!!!
But what @NenaMarie84‌ said I'm sure once DS eats more table food I'm sure I will go to the more healthy route again. Blahhhhhhhhh!!!

I'm with you here. I love the taste of healthy food, but don't like to take the time to cook it!

  • Does it count as healthy eating if you eat organic kettle cooked chips that are maple and bacon flavor (sounds weird but they are FRIGGING GREAT)? How about the beer cheese flavored ones (again, awesome!)?

  • I was just thinking about this as I sit here eating my giant Reese cups. Maybe August I will really focus on a lifestyle change regarding diet. So sad.

  • I feel the same, I enjoy the taste of healthy foods but when my mind has the choice of preparing healthy foods or grabbing a quick fix, I often head toward the unhealthy decision. My willpower can be pretty weak in restaurants too. I usually find a healthy entree to try and then I flip to the back of the menu and see poutine and I most often change my mind to that. Always feeling guilty afterwards!
