Cloth Diapering

Help me diagnose this stain please....

I have this 4.0 that has an odd stain on it. I can see it both sides of the lining and have attached images of both the top of the inner fabric when it is stuffed and then I have turned it inside out for the second image to see how the stain comes through the fabric to the underside.

Initially I thought it was mold but I have treated with bleach and it did not budge. I am also in a hot/dry climate area so we don't get mold easily here.

Any ideas what it is and how to get rid of it? This is the only CD that has this stain.

  • Looks like mildew to me. Have you tried sunning it?

  • I'm not sure I can tell much about the stain. When you used bleach was it plain plain plain regular bleach or do you buy the kind that smells nice or has any other feature other than bleach? Plain regular bleach is much more effective than fancy bleach. They are two different chemicals. But I would try sunning it out before anything else. Well actually stains don't bother me so I would ignore it.

  • If it was mold, beach will kill the mold, but not remove the stain.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but couldn't it just be a poop stain? That can look all kinds of different ways.
    Did sunning not work?

I agree.  Beaching mold won't necessarily get rid of the stain, just stop it from growing.  Definitely try sunning.

  • Thanks. I have tried sunning but I will do it again for a few days and see if it will come out. Thought it was mold but no idea why and how it grew there when all other CD's are find and this one was not used a lot.
