  • My first went through a biting stage. I tried a few things that didn't work (I.e. Take him off when he would start biting and wait for a bit, taking him off as soon as I thought he might be done eating so he didn't have time to clamp) I really wanted to keep nursing and the biting was making it impossible. I ended up giving him a pinch on his cheek when he bit down. It took two times and he never did it again. It was a horrible feeling making him cry but I was relieved we could continue nursing.
So, not the first solution, and not ideal, but an idea if nothing else helps.

Is anyone else interested in doing a check-in?  I'm curious how everyone is doing.  Something like:

How many times does your LO nurse per day?  How long is each session?
How many times are you nursing at nights?
    Any problems or questions?

Any problems or questions? Not really...I am staying home with her until next August and I waited way too long (4 months!) to pump and offer a bottle. I tried 4 different kinds and she didn't scream/outright refuse, just seemed confused by it. Oh well, we'll make exclusively nursing work. I hated pumping with my first two so this isn't all bad.

  • Maybe make it a combo nursing/pumping check-in for the working moms.

I'm still trying to figure out how often I should pump at work.  It's pretty clear I have an oversupply that I should try to correct, but an irrational part of me is afraid of the pendulum swinging too hard the other direction and cutting my supply to where I can't provide the milk LO needs.  But I know I need to do something since at times the let down is still pretty strong and LO has a rough time of it.

  • I'd like a combo nursing/pumping check in too. I wouldn't mind it being weekly. I will be starting to pump in January so I could use tips prior to then.
