Hello Ladies, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Sending lots of love to you all!

This is the weekly check-in for TTCALers who are also dealing with infertility. If you'd like to join us please feel free to intro with your diagnosis and history. We've had a few extra challenges thrown at us, ladies. Come here for snuggles from people who get what you're dealing with.

Fill us in, along with any other updates or vents you need to get out, TTCAL or NonTTCAL related.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know. I try to lurk on PgAL often, but sometimes it’s tough.

If we haven’t heard from you in a few weeks please come back in with an update; or are new and want to join please post a brief intro with your DX and current/future treatment plans an  I’ll add you to next week’s check in!

 

 

@alicia_r1   How did the ER go on Thursday? I hope everything went smoothly and you got a great fert report. Keeping everything crossed so tightly for you.

@beckynsean11 Did everything go OK with your IUI? Anything exciting planned in the 2ww to help you keep distracted?

@Frenchteachermama    How did the SSH and the mock transfer go this week? I hope it went smoothly and you are one step closer.

Hello Lovelies!

AF showed for me so the IUI was a bust. Based on mh numbers my RE has decided that continuing IUIs isn't the best protocol for us as it doesn't really increase our chances and we don't meet the count cut off. So we are going to do OI with TI until probably the new year and at that point we will probably move to IVF. We may consider a mini-ivf in the fall but we will see how the next few months go. MH was also referred to a urologist so hopefully we will get in by the end of August.

We are just relaxing this weekend and processing it all so it is nice to have some downtime.

QOTW: Breaking Bad was my all time favourite but we recently also got into Master's of Sex.

Nothing new with me. I'm not charting, but can tell that I o`d about 4 days ago due to breast tenderness
The fitness thing is going well! I'm damm sore

QOTW: I really like The Walking Dead. I liked Breaking Bad while watching it, but I think I like Walking Dead more

I triggered last Sunday. Since I am no longer temping I'm not sure when I O'd.  My RE said that I should have released two follicles. My EDD is 7-24-14 and I'm not sure how I am going to feel.  

QOTW- We just have basic Verizon FIOS so we don't have any extra channels.  When we had them, we never watched them.

I'm sure the charting break is nice. I am keeping my fx for you this cycle.

What type of fitness are you doing?

Masters of Sex is a HBO show loosely based around Masters and Johnson's research on sex and fertility in the 1950s. I remember learning about them in psych classes. It's pretty good although there are lots of triggers for iF and loss (I've only seen a few episodes so far)

AFM:
So far so good on the new drugs. I had some insomnia for a few days but that seems to have resolved. I am a bit moody and the folgard I'm on makes me super nauseous but other than that..... No complaints and nothing new really.

@TVLily‌ for my weekend MH took me to the spa for a massage this morning, and it was delightful! The rest of my weekend will revolve around going for runs and relaxing

@TVLily‌ it's just a 12 week workout that I got off of bodybuilding.com by Jamie Eason. The nutrition stuff is simple, just clean eating.

We were ntnp this cycle, as well as last cycle. I was trying to not even know where I was at in my cycle, but if I'm right about O, we actually hit the 3 days prior. So, not bad timing. Of course, I'd love to be one of those who got ku while on a tx break, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too much

AFM: I'm 4dpiui and don't know how to feel. The iui went really great no cramping and a really good number from dh. I'm still on the fence about testing. I waited for my beta last iui so I think I might again this time, if I can control the urge to poas!

AFM, my FET went really well on Friday. My beta is Saturday next weekend so 6 days and counting!!!  I'm debating whether to test at home or not. Every single cycle ever I've tested at home and while it was the best experience of my life seeing the faint line last year, I kinda wonder what it would be like to have no idea and get "that" call from the RE. We'll see... I'm pretty impatient sooooo, LOL   I have a few things planned... today we're going to a White Sox game for the Preeclampsia organization, meetings a few nights after work this week, Thursday MH and I are going downtown Chicago all day and a Cubs game at night. Hope that's enough distraction

I am so sorry that this has to be a post and run today, DH's practice is coming over for a BBQ and we have so much to do!!

AFM:  The SIS and mock transfer went well last week, everything looks normal.  I got the call on Friday that I will be starting a testosterone patch next Thursday which I'll be on for 2 weeks before I start my Lupron and Gonal F.  They think the patch will help "maximize" my body's performance since I have such a low AMH.  I think it's a relatively new approach but I'm willing to try it.  I'm just worried I'm going to grow facial hair and have roid rages.  LOL.  I'm going to call Freedom pharmacy tomorrow and find out the cost of all of my meds...trying to prepare myself.  EEK!

Hey @TVLily - Thanks for the check-in!

I'm 7dpo, and just hoping for time to speed up.  Of course I have no hope, so I'm not getting anxious or anything.  No acupuncture for now, it was getting too expensive.  I will be going back for our IVF cycle though.

Still planning on our trip in September - but it's just a weekend getaway a few hours south.  Nothing too exciting. 

@TVLily - Sorry about the BFN.  Hope you are able to relax during your break!

I hope the med expenses are in the ballpark you are thinking.

I know what you mean about accu it really adds up and I decided to cut it out last cycle too. That's good to try it for ivf though.

AF showed up 4 DAYS EARLY, so my FET is underway.  I have an ultrasound next Saturday (26th) and I am to start looking for O starting the 24th. (unmedicated FET).

QOTW:  I got into Breaking Bad just before the last season and really liked it.  I don't like The Walking Dead, and am not into any similar shows at the moment.

I went in for my baseline bw and us this morning. I'm still on the fence about CCS testing. My insurance will partially cover to ART procedures. If I was to have CCS, the FET would count as my second procedure. Do I take the risk of doing a fresh transfer for my first procedure to fall back on the second one if it doesn't work? What if I want to do CCS but only get a few embryos? Can I cancel CCS at the last minute and just do a fresh transfer? I'm really struggling with this decision and would love others to weigh in and provide advice.

QOTW: The Killing on AMC. Also love Walking Dead.  I'm really getting into the new series Leftovers on HBO.

Sorry Hun, I really don't have advice. But sending you so many +++ vibes as you make this decision. I hope some of the other ladies are able to weigh in to help you.

OI = ovulation induction (meds)
TI = timed intercourse

I've never heard of the killing or leftovers I'll have to check those out!

Sorry I'm crazy late to the check in. IUI #3 was last Thursday & we had great numbers from H. I started having ovulation cramps while I was in the waiting room, so hopefully timing was great. I've been crampy ever since. I'm still not sure if I'm going to test out my trigger or just wait another week. I guess I better decide that soon.

Hey ladies, I know it's late in the week, but I'm hoping I can join in on the IF support and start joining you on the weekly check-ins. Thank you @TVLily for hosting and keeping tabs on everyone.

About me, well, if you can see my siggy, you'll see that DH and I have been TTC since Mar 2013. We started working with an RE in Jan of this year after a SA revealed the DH has low everything and also a clumping issue that prevents his swimmers from doing anything but partying with each other. (Insert all sorts of inappropriate jokes here) Our second medicated cycle, first IUI, we conceived (Mar 2014) but just 9 weeks later we discovered the MMC at the end of April; tried taking multiple doses of misoprostol but it didn't work, had to get a D&C, ended up with retained tissue, which finally cleared itself last month. We just started TTCAL this past month with an unmedicated IUI and it was a BFN. I took it really, really hard, but I know I need to dust myself off and get back on the hope train. We have a plan in place to do three unmedicated IUI's before heading back down the medicated route. Our new RE feels confident that we don't need the meds, just the IUI to help with the clumping issue, and DH is also taking Clomid to improve numbers, which is actually working, so I'm doing my best to focus on the positives.

I know we've all had long, frustrating journeys and I just want to thank you in advance for taking me under your wings. Positive vibes and hugs to all.

So glad that the numbers and timing seemed to be all on pace for your IUI. Keeping everything crossed for you this cycle, hopefully you can come to the testing decision easily.
