Ronan for girl

Is Ronan heading over to the girls side? We finally decided on naming our little guy Ronan and my friend at work said its a girls name. When I defended it being a boys name she pulled up her fb and showed me two friends with DDs named Ronin and Ronan! I of course googled and found that people are using it on girls, I just don't know how often.

I will probably rethink my name choice if its becoming a girl name so I just wanted some thoughts on that

I think it would make a hideous girls name. But I guess there's no accounting for taste.

Good!! We have such a hard time with names so I really don't want to pick a new one!

Unisex names don't bother me for the most part and I have a daughter with one, but Ronan is all boy to me.

I think its a unisex name. I've heard it on both boys and girls. It's like Quinn or Sawyer.

Coming from someone who has daughters with boys' names (Adeline Blake, Marnie Raye, Beckett Claire) I think Ronan is way too much for a little girl its actually the name we chose for #8 if its a BOY

I LOVE the name Ronan for a boy! My DS had a boy named Ronan on his baseball team. All the parents remarked about how cute it was. I DID see Ronan listed as a girls name on some baby name website. I forget which one but I will post if i remember. Love it for a boy.

I agree, it's a boy's name, but even if for some reason more girls start being called Ronan, don't let that dissuade you from a name you love. Being compared to a girl should not be a bad thing (I hate the trend that boy's names on girls are okay; but girl's names on boys aren't. It's so misogynistic).
