I wanted to be a teacher first...then I switched to graphic design but ultimately ended up in sales & marketing for my family's business & I still get to play with graphics so thats fun.

I wanted to be a surgeon after seeing a gallbladder surgery in 6th grade. But then I got a degree in Management Information Systems and Finance and am a Cost Engineer. Big difference!

AFM: quietly chugging along to 20 weeks on Wed. I'm thankfully everything has been smooth so far other than daily vomit. Still haven't felt the girls. We have the anatomy scan next Monday. I'm exhausted today from a busy social weekend.... Think I over did a bit...

QOTW: I was always going to be a lawyer and I am... Sort of. Currently not working and I hate being a lawyer!!! Will figure out next career steps next spring after the twins are here. Grateful to have the ability to not work right now and just grow babies.

Hi everyone. Bad news for me. Beta was a big fat zero! I have a phone consult with my RE on Thursday to figure out what needs to change for the next one (if anything). I have 6 frozens left. QOTW: I always wanted to be a veterinarian, but ended up a surgical tech. I also have my Bachelors in Criminal Justice.... I hope everyone has a great week!

PAIF UPDATE:

No real updates on me. Just waiting until our scheduled c section two weeks from tomorrow, or if baby girl decides she wants to come earlier on her own. Time is dragging! I'm telecommuting for work so thankfully it's much easier to endure these last couple of weeks.

QOTW: I wanted to be an attorney for animal rights, but ended up being an IT manager. I still have a soft spot for animal welfare and rescue work in my free time, though!

Check in: We had our 20 week ultrasound last Friday...even though we were 21 weeks. We are having a beautiful healthy baby boy! DH's entire family is basically boys so this wasn't a shock but we are thrilled. The appointment couldn't have gone better. We did the hospital tour and met the OB as well and it was all fantastic. 

QOTW: In high school I wanted to be a genetic counselor (I honestly can't remember what I wanted to be as a kid) but I ended up as a medical technologist.

Right now we are just enjoying our treatment break waiting for our consult with Dr. KK (44 days to go). I also need to make a consult with the new RE I want to switch to, I should probably do that in the next few weeks (I'm planning on making my consult for between my Dr. KK consult and my follow up with her). I'm still not sure what our treatment plan will be. I am considering giving OE one more try, my sister has offered to donate eggs, and I am still considering making a MW profile. DH insists that we use DS, but I don't know how I feel if we do an OE cycle again and don't use his sperm. I guess right now our options are open.

QOTW: I changed my mind all the time on what I wanted to be growing up (I did pretty well in school and liked all of my subjects, so I never had a front runner). I ended up in marketing research which has let me use both analytical skills and creative skills.

Not much happening here. I had my last growth ultrasound today, Gracie is 5 lbs, 12 oz and at the 25 percentile. She was moving like crazy and based her first NST this week. Now 3 more weeks, 5 more NSTs until we get to meet her.

AFM - I did a longer pregnancy update in the LGBT pregnancy check-in if you are interested to read it, it's here. But in a nutshell...all is well! Had our usual BPP/NST appointment today and she is performing well. Still head down too!! YAY! Yesterday was our baby shower and it was surreal and awesome. I kept being amazed that I made it to the baby shower... and that I'll be 35w this week. It's getting real which is exciting and terrifying, but we are ready. Or, as ready as anyone is.

QOTW: I wanted to be a pathologist and do autopsies! Weird, but my dad was a funeral director, and I loved the show "Quincy." I ended up graduating with a degree in journalism and sociology - and now am a project/account manager at a big software company. Writing skills never hurt though, no matter what you end up doing - no regrets!

QOTW: Growing up I use to visit my Godmother at work where she was a judge. Use to pretend sitting up at her desk that I was a judge banging the gavel. I then wanted to be a teacher. Had couple of interviews at local school districts that didnt pan out and after working at daycare for awhile I ended up a nanny. Still with the family...20 yrs later

SAIF Update: Both babies are doing good! B is a tiny bit over her birth weight and G is almost to his. He is doing so good at feedings that he might come home this week. It's so bittersweet to think about splitting my time between one at home and one still in the NICU. QOTW: I changed my mind so much about what I wanted to be...lawyer, teacher, flight attendant. lol I started college with a graphic design degree plan but quickly realized it wasn't something I wanted to do long term. So I switched to International Business in hopes I could find a job requiring travel. I ended up in accounting, which required zero travel. lol Then I was laid off and have enjoyed being a housewife!

QOTW: I wanted to be a family practice doctor. But I'm a little squeamish (:| and don't think I could have made if through all the chemistry classes. So I was pre-med for a while but then switched to psychology. Now I'm a clinical psychologist at a hospital and really like my job.

Hello everyone.  Hugs to everyone even if you don't need them and SUPER HUGE HUGS to those that do!!  I second @datingbettyboop  You are all amazing!

I had my CD13 u/s and b/w, it's actually CD15 because they needed to get the results M-F.  My lining only came back at 7 mm, I was disappointed about that.  I don't have the exact results of the P4 or E2 but the RN I spoke with said they looked good and that the lining was on the low side but it would be okay.  I had told Nan that I don't respond as well to the Estrace as I do to the patches but this is the Kliman protocol and that's what they use for it.

QOTW:  I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon until I heard the sound that a saw and drill make when you put them on bone!  I could handle everything but that.  So...I have an associates in business admin and I would love to go back to school but I still don't know for what.  I'm am part of the clerical area for a very large hospital and am potentially getting a promotion soon

I still have dreams of being a kindergarden teacher though too

We are counting down the days until our Dr. KK appointment. 35 and 75 days to go! I remember when that follow up appointment was 144 days away, and I just wanted to cry! It seemed like an eternity. It still kinda is, but that's ok. I'm keeping myself busy with marathon training, so that makes me happy! 

On the DEgg front, DH & I discussed the possibility of getting our funds together a bit sooner. It looks like we'll be good to go in the financial department once we have a match. We're on the active recipient list... we're just waiting to see some profiles! I can't wait to get this thing going!!

QOTW: I wanted to be a musician or a teacher.... and now I'm a music teacher

AFM: I had my lining check yesterday and it showed a large blood clot in my uterus. So I have stopped all IVF meds and started progesterone to have a period. Its a small set back, but I'm trying to stay positive. I'll go back for another ultrasound after I start my period on CD5. The hope is that the blood clot is gone, but if not, then I will have an endometrial biopsy.

QOTW: I changed my mind so much on what I wanted to be! I wanted to be a doctor when I was a kid. Then in high school I decided I wanted to be a high school history teacher. In college, I decided teaching wasn't for me and ended up with a paralegal degree. I am not using that degree and am working as a photographer! However, I am actually contemplating going back to school to become a Certified Medical Assistant.

I am 11 weeks and doing good. I have my first tri screening and my first appointment with my MFM next week.  I am anxious as I haven't had a sono in a month!  So hopefully some good news to keep my IF brain somewhat calm.

Update: The waiting has made me crazy. I can't take it anymore. My H and I have decided to try DS insemination at home this month. We know the chances of this working are probably 0%, but everything that has supposed to work hasn't and I can't do nothing for months on end.

We are awaiting the biopsy results as well... I'm getting more anxious about it everyday.

Still looking into other options, assuming our FET with our last 2 doesn't work. We had narrowed it down to shady grove, if we qualify for their DE refund program or California conceptions, for which we will not qualify for their refund program.

Qotw- I wanted to be a nurse because my mother was a nurse. I actually am an RN now, but switched my major from chemistry (I wanted to be a pharmacist).

As for our little PJ things are going great! He's ten and a half months now and such a sweetheart with a funny personality!! He's almost crawling and I'm getting ready to install baby gates any day now! We finally got him a appointment to see a neurologist for the tremors he's doing on occasion and the bio parents court date is July 22nd and we will be there to see what's going to be court ordered for them. I pray everyday he will get to be ours forever so hopefully six months from that court date we wil process our adoption papers!

Qotw: I wanted to be a marine biologist... Who was I kidding so not book smart for that.... I went to hair school and now am a full time hairstylist. It fits my personality to a t!

I am currently stimming. First monitoring appt. tomorrow. I am pretty nervous after our last cancelled cycle.

EAIF Update:

All is great with Squirt. We have an echo to check out the heart in detail on the 24th. We are registered for baby classes with our GC and infant care classes for just us. It is exciting!

QOTW: ALL my family is teachers. I was going to be a music teacher (started college for that) but ended up a professor in the sciences. Still teaching, but music is just a hobby now. I am playing in the pit for a community production of the Music Man that opens this week! (It's all very Waiting for Guffman...)

They had a cancellation at Dr. KK's office so my appointment got moved up y 2 weeks. It's now August 14th, only 30 days away. The best part is that my follow up was moved up to September 4th (51 days away), which is a month earlier than my original follow up due to scheduling issues with Dr. KK.

I've also left a message to schedule a consult with the RE I want to switch to. I am hoping to get it in the end of August/beginng of September. Right now I am torn about how to procede with treatments. I kind of want to give my eggs one more try, especially if Dr. KK finds any issue that could be interfering with my egg quality. My sister has also offered to donate eggs. Also DH is still insisting that we use donor sperm. So right now I am leaning towards a fresh cycle with my eggs and frozen DS along with a DE/DS cycle using my sister's eggs and frozen DS. Hopefully this would give us plenty of embryos to freeze for future attempts (hopefully siblings). It seems like a crazy plan, but I've crunched the numbers and it should be cheaper than a agency donor cycle with my clinic. I really hope that the new RE is ok with our plan.

@Double portion, Congrats on the little man coming home soon.  I did the whole one in the NICU, one at home thing.  Ask your NICU if you can bring the baby back in that is at home... That helped me greatly.  I would bring him with me and have him in his car seat while I took care of the baby that was still in the NICU.  

@liz4paws and @2mamaz, you two are so close!  

QOTW:  I bounced around from hospital administrator to vet  several times when I was younger.  I am actually a speech therapist in a school.. not at all close!!

Sorry I am late to check in its been a really hard time since the D&C last Monday. Still can't believe we MC at 8w6d & lost both the babies, its been more hard on my body then I thought it would be but taking one day at a time.

Still waiting on my IPs to come around & I pray they do, but nothing I can do but give them space at this point. I have reached out to them to let them know how much I care & am here for them.

QOTW: always wanted to be a nurse tell high school when I decide to be a nurses midwife was really what I wanted to do, life had different plans & got married young & had my son then Surro son & then my daughter & I became a doula which I love, also been in school to become a nurse midwife for some tome just taking a bit longer to get done with kids but one day I be able to call my self a nurse midwife :x

Today was my last day of work; I am now officially on maternity leave.  I hope baby decides to come soon!  If I don't go into labor within a week my OB wants to induce me; she doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks because of my age.  And I REALLY don't want an induced labor because I was hoping for a med-free birth.  So I'm really hoping my body cooperates naturally.  Wish me luck, ladies!  I'm so eager to meet my little girl!  

QOTW:  Growing up I wanted to be a veterinarian or a wildlife biologist.  I've ended up a lawyer.  Funny how things turn out.  I actually think the things I wanted to do when I was younger might have been better suited to my personality but . . . c'est la vie.

Last FET was a bfn, DH and I have decided to go for one last fresh cycle with a new donor. Looking through profiles now, have a promising candidate, and will discuss her this weekend with my RE. Goal would be to get started as soon as possible. Donor has availability issues after September. As a child, I wanted to be an archaeologist. I have a degree in finance and work in a science related field.

Hello ladies!

We've got no baby news really, she's doing well, though surro has a cold. We've also rearranged all the bedrooms in our house after the attic conversion, so we're reading to start decorating the nursery.

QOTW: I'm kind of weird in that I actually did what I wanted to do growing up. I wanted to be a professional skier; and I retired from that about 11 years ago now, and then I intended to do something with chemistry; I've been a research chemist for 10 years.

We got our first profile on Thursday! It wasn't what we were looking for, so we told our match coordinator and are waiting for the next profile. We feel very strongly the need to have a repeat donor. All of my testing indicated that my eggs would be fine, which they clearly are not. I just can't go through another cycle without knowing that the donor's history is on our side. The whole experience with my eggs was so traumatizing... we just can't put ourselves in that position ever again if we can help it!

I don't blame you. If we ever move on to DE, I would definitely want a proven donor. GL, I hope your search is a short one!
