I brought laundry down and didn't latch the gate at the foot of the stairs because I thought Q was gated in the tv room.  He was not and by the time we realized it, he was all the way at the top of the stairs, looking around like he was king of the stair case.  I heard DH let out a squeak and haul ass up the steps and I saw him as I rounded the corner.

Also, he's decided it's super cool to climb up onto the little kid table and chairs and just check out the scenery.  Kid's gonna be the death of me.

My kid climbed onto the coffee table and then used it to climb onto the sofa. It was bit petrifying and amusing at the same time!

Tyler plays a fun game of no matter where you put me down I will crawl to the stairs. I let him crawl up and down (with me behind and in front of him) to burn some calories. I think he likes it because he can't walk yet so it's his way of walking. Or he likes stressing me out.

Just remembered he tried to climb over the back of the couch yesterday, had one leg over, dangling, and was trying to get the other when I heard Bradley say "no Tyler we don't climb on mommy's couch" ...and we all remember his tipping his chair back at dinner and breaking the effing chair incident.

We dont have stairs but SO's parents do. And no gate, yet. DD has figured out how to climb them but wont go all the way to the top. She usually stops at the landing, 3 steps up, and sits down.

She also likes to climb on the back of the couch and has tried to climb of out of her crib using her Sleep Sheep as a boost.

Colton has been a climber for awhile, he used to try to climb in and out of the crib at daycare. They have Plexiglas-style solid sides instead of rails and it's low to the ground so he grabs the top and climbs up by pushing his feet against the sides. Apparently it scared the crap out of the teachers a couple of times, so they started napping him on a cot instead of cribs about a month or so ago. 

At home, he hasn't climbed out of the crib, but he loves to climb up the stairs, chairs, etc. He actually fell down trying to climb a table and busted his lip over the weekend. He was sooo upset and it was bleeding all over, but he was right back to climbing more once he calmed down....  I now live in fear.

We have stairs but our house is Fort Knox with gates everywhere so Grayson hasn't explored our stairs yet. But he did encounter stairs for the first time on Saturday. I was right next to him but he climbed up them like he was a pro! I'm glad Q is ok and nothing serious happened but I'm sure you all had a mini heart attack!

He can definitely get UP the stairs, no problem but once he's at the top, different story.  He seems to be following in Aiden's footsteps and refuses to try to learn how to go down backwards or on his butt. He insists on walking down them, forward facing (which he can't do lol).  Thankfully we found him because he would have gone ass over eyebrows down the entire staircase and crashed into the front door.  Eep.

My parents did not bother baby proofing for my brother (7 years after my younger sister, 9 years after me). He fell down the stairs a lot. It horrifies me now, in hindsight, but seemed totally normal at the time.

We are now trying to teach Freyja how to go downstairs on her butt so that in the event she somehow breaks through the baby gates we don't have to have such a heart attack. So far it's working.
