I am a little over 13 weeks! I was told that there was an 80% chance it was a boy. I am excited but I know that anything can change at any point..so I am trying not to get too eager. But, hey...how am I supposed to not be excited? Just curious if anyone else found out they were having a boy at this early, and was it accurate? OR were you told you were having a boy and it turned out to be a girl? Regardless, boy or girl so exciting!
Re: How early did you find out you were having a boy?
Even if somebody was told boy at 13 weeks and it turned out to be a boy - techs have a 50/50 chance of getting correct at that point. Like pp said, they start out with a genital nub easily mistaken for a boy that early.
With DS1 we found out at the anatomy scan at about 20 weeks. This one I had M-21 so there was a Y chromosome detected at 11.5 weeks but when I asked if that test can be wrong (it is accurate but there are errors) at the NT scan, the tech said external confirmation is a guess at that point anyways. We are having a boy, but they couldn't **see** that until AS at 21 weeks even though it was confirmed with the M21 test.
I had my first ultrasound at 23 weeks (I thought I was 21 weeks, and then my due date changed) as we do it later in my Province.
It was VERY obviously a boy. The tech wasn't allowed to tell me either way, but when he took the screenshot for the Gender, it was hard not to notice the anatomy
I have heard multiple stories of people being told the gender too early and it being wrong. Its takes a while for the genitals to even develope!
It's a BOY! Est. Due Date - October 17th
Boy bits were almost straight up
I think it is about a 50/50 chance of your doctor being right at 13 weeks
yes pretty sure it's a 50/50 shot. lol not being mean, just thoght that funny

I'd think 13 weeks is a little early, but it's not unheard of to find out that early. I was told it was too early to tell with my first at 14 weeks & didn't find out I was having a girl until 20 weeks.
