My least favorite part is when I try to put him in his crib after he eats, and then I lay here and listen and make bets on whether he will stay asleep or scream for me to pick him up. I end up holding him and sleeping more often than not still. Boo.

Just played that game with DD. She finally caved and went back to sleep. The stretches of sleep are always so small after MOTN feedings. It's 5-6 hours after the first and 1-2 after that.
Maybe it was the gripe water (which apparently you're supposed to refrigerate!
Why do you think this? It doesn't say to on my box..
Up for the first feeding of the night. Poor DD was so fussy yesterday. We are weaning off the formula supplements and every time she had formula yesterday she spit up excessively. I need to increase my supply quickly here because she's spitting up most of what she's getting right now!
@JuniperGaze Yeah, we get to replace our bottle because of that! Totally didn't realize it had to be refrigerated until someone on here mentioned something! The print saying that on my bottle is super tiny.
Omg. I think she gave me from 12:30 to 6! I say "I think" because I was so sleep deprived that i don't think she got up between then, but I can't be sure.
She was really restless from 5-6 with gas, but she stayed asleep... amazing.

This! I have such a hard time getting LO back in his crib after his 1st feeding at night. His stamina is greater then mine and we end up on the couch together almost every night.
DD slept from 10 to 3 then 6 to 9! I can't believe it! I haven't gotten this much sleep since before she was born. My boobs were super full when we finally got up, but it was worth it!
Fun note: I made a Shutterfly photobook of my sweet girl and I got it in the mail yesterday! I can't stop looking at all her adorable pictures.
Yeah, we had this issue when we came home from the hospital too. Rectal stimulation worked then for us, but this time, nothing. Bicycling her legs, massaging her belly, an ounce of Apple juice a day...all with no results. The doc is a little confused too cause her stomach sounds and feels fine! So we don't know where it's going. :-/
It's 7:00 and I have been up since 1. Cluster feeding at night?! Fml. She's 5 weeks today, I'm thinking another gs. I need Starbucks
@Csltdk I was right there with you. We were up from 1-6:30. The day before it was pretty much the same. We went to the doc, then I made it to Starbucks and with two kids under 1 I actually got a lot done yesterday!! Yay for Starbucks!!
We've been dealing with horrible diaper rash almost from day 1 (now 16 weeks). It sucks so bad. Makes me want to cry whenever I change her bum. Tried various creams, prescriptions, naked time.... Now using baby powder (even though not recommended) and I think it's helping more than anything else.

@TRyan86 That's a long time to be dealing with that! Poor little baby bum. I know I hate changing him, it looks sopainful. I might have to try the baby powder. Also what worked well for us last year was coconut oil. I ran out though. I started thinking maybe hes allergic to the wipes, I mean I know it's from the constant wiping. He poops like 100x pet day but I don't know. I just wish it would go away.
I didn't even notice it. The doc is the one who pointed it out. Fail on my part, I was probably making it worse by not knowing. Just rubbing away. Ok....off to nap now. We are currently in bat mode. Sleep during the day, up all night. I hope the rash goes away soon for you. Let me know if it helps.
For those of you who are dealing with diaper rash..if you are nursing try putting breastmilk on the rash. I took some pumped milk and put it on a cotton ball and put in on after her nightly bath and the rash was gone the next morning. I know it sounds crazy but it worked. Hopefully you can do the same.

@kam3100 Hey, they say breastmilk can cure multiple things. So I'm totally going to try it! Thank you.
DS was bathed, changed, fed and asleep by 8:45. 15 minutes later he spit up on his sheets, and pajamas and woke himself up. I felt so bad, he's never spit up this much. We gave him another quick rinse off, and new pajamas, and amazingly he went back to sleep without much of a fuss. Really hoping the spit up was a one time thing and won't mess up his sleeping the rest of the night! Here's hoping for some sleep for all of us on here!!
Omg - so I guess every other night will be a "no sleep night". LO fell asleep for 30 minutes, but other than that we've been up. She keeps wanting to eat, and I've fed her every hour since 5. But I think her real problem is gas...which the eating doesn't help. The screaming was the worst. She acted as if I hadn't fed her in days.
I gave her mylicon drops and put her in her swing. She's been swinging for about 10 minutes and she's wide awake...but she's not fussing, so I guess that's an improvement.
As an aside, getting 30 minutes of sleep really sucks...it doesn't make you feel better at all - I'm so groggy right now. Ugh
It seems I get one good night per week and I've already used my quota. Mikey simply won't settle down, he's fed, changed and burped, but he freaks every time I put him down. Argh!
I've been spoiled lately. It's one thing to get no sleep, but to start getting sleep and have taken away...horribly mean. I have tasted the good life of only one short MOTN feeding, and it's glorious.
I had to peel myself out of bed for what I can feel is the first of at least two, if not three feedings before 7am.
DH came and got me so I could feed DS, but by the time I got downstairs, the little guy was asleep again...on his tummy on the couch. So now I'm just sitting here watching him sleep as I stuff my face with pop tarts, contemplating whether or not to try flipping him over and going back to sleep myself if the movement doesn't wake him. It's either that or continue to watch him for who knows how long until he wakes up on his own. Yay for getting almost 4 hours of sleep, though. Second night in a row!
LO slept 1 to 5:30! Hoping we can go back to sleep for a little bit.
I'm calling the Pedi office this morning to see if I can make an appt to talk about possible reflux. Every evening she flips out during/after nursing. She spits up all day and seems upset about it half the time. Her hiccups also often seem to bother her. It's so sad to see her in pain every day. I'm just not sure if she is being "colicky" or actually in real discomfort.

So much for the 4 hour evening stretches LO was giving me! Tonight we are on 2 1/2 hours between when she wants to eat tops. I think this is literally the most tired I've been so far since she was born. (didn't sleep well last night.) I'm over exhausted to where when it is time to lay down my body can't even relax enough to get a deep sleep. I think I'm going to stay in bed all day tomorrow and do nothing but feed her an nap.
DS slept from 9-1 and I was hopeful he would go back down for another good stretch after that. He had different plans. Up at 2:30, and again at 4. After eating at 4 he was just wide awake until 6 and up again now to eat. I just need to stop getting my hopes up. Happy Friday to everyone!

Have you tried gas drops?
We've been doing gripe water which seems to help a little depending on the severity. Have gas drops worked for you? I've read that gas drops don't really do anything for a lot of people. Maybe we will get some this weekend to see.
Just waiting for DD to fall asleep after her 2 am feeding. I love weekends cause DH doesn't have an excuse to not hang out late at night!
My stitching from my 3rd degree tear has been feeling amazing all week! But tonight I plopped down hard on the couch to nurse and felt a sharp pain. When I went yo the bathroom I saw a little blood on my liner. I'm totally bummed that I might have torn something open in my carelessness.
Wish us luck! We are at my parent's house for the weekend. Let's see how the LO does in a different place...
us too! And he went 3 hrs and 45 min in thr bassinet of the pack n play my parents bought! Im so excited, I just slept in a bed with my husband for the first time since June!!!

My pediatrician said a lot of people say they don't work because they are not consistent. I was told either give them every feeding or not at all. Ever since we started giving them at every feeding, my LO has less gas, is less fussy.
@cko521 - i really don't understand it. We do the same thing every day, and yet every other night she does not want to go down. It's si frustrating because I try to figure out what to do, and there really is no answer.

Yeah, I'm stumped here too. She's been eating constantly, her diapers clean...I don't know why she keeps waking up.
Omg - my husband just got her to fall asleep on the couch - I'm not touching her! I'll sleep down here if I have to thank God he doesn't have my anxiety and keeps a calm head. I get anxious at night (when I'm tired I can't control it as much), so I get stuck.
