How has your child taken to it? Do you do a soft spout, hard spout, straw or just a regular cup (sorry, I don't know how to poll)? Also, how many ounces of water does your LO drink a day?
DD was using a soft spout for a while. I find she plays with it mostly though. I just bought a straw cup and she loves it. She still plays with it but I think she's getting more water with the straw than the soft spout. Pedi recommended at least 4oz per day but we're lucky to get 2oz in her. This worries me because of the hot weather. I'm thinking of upping her milk to make up for it so she doesn't dehydrate, but then worry it'll cut into her solids. Ahh decisions decisions.
DS has a couple of softish spouts with handles and a couple of hard spouts without handles. I offer them to him at meal times with water. He does not do well with them. He thinks they are toys. He will take some sips with me holding it. He basically gets a couple of sips per meal.....so not very much. I am thinking of trying to switch over to a straw cup.
Emily only plays with a spout cup. She drinks great out of a regular cup with a regular straw, so I got her a straw sippy cup. She plays with it, too, more than drinking out of the straw. It has a rubber straw and she bites it. We have a plain travel cup with a hard straw that she drinks out of much better.
We do all kinds of spouts. She does anywhere from 4-6 oz a day. She chokes when she drinks from a straw so I'm sticking with spouts for the time being.
We use the NUK soft spout sippy cup with handles on it and she does really well with that. I've tried the hard ones and they are hard for her. We do a couple oz of water at lunch and dinner.
We use the munchkin straw cups that have the little weight at the end of the straw. She does well with it, she knows it's to drink out of and doesn't play with it like a toy. I only offer her water on hot days or if we're out and about. Sometimes with her snack. She drinks maybe an oz a day unless it's really hot and we're outside she'll usually drink about 2oz.
We use the take and toss 7 oz sippy cup. It has a hard spout. I fill it about half full and offer it when she eats. She drinks from it well and likes to play with it at the end of her meals.
We use a straw one. She didn't use to do well with the other ones but I haven't tried them in a while. She loves water! I offer it with her meals and if she has a snack in the afternoon.
We use the Take & Toss straw cups, or she just drinks from mine. I'm not sure how much she actually gets- it varies from day to day and depending on what we're doing
Take and toss straw cups and she loves them! I'd say about 2 oz most days but if we are out in the heat it could be 4. Her brother has a hard spout Playtex cup that she is dying to get her hands on but I only let him have it for juice with Miralax for his chronic constipation so she's not allowed to try it!
We have a soft spout Nuk sippy cup. She will take sips from it but also loves to chew on the spout. I offer water at her meal times and she drinks around 1-2 oz of water a day but like others have said I offer her water more often on warmer days and she may drink another ounce or two. We do have a straw cup that I've tried with her but unfortunately it is not spill proof so LO ended up soaked. I do need to look into getting a little more variety of cups for her to try.

We use plastic 2 oz. shot glasses and put water in. No, he can't manage on his own yet.
