Eliza woke up about 5 saying she was scared of the mouth (????) and didn't want to go back to her bed, didn't want to sleep next to daddy and wouldn't sleep on our bed. She wanted to be in my lap. She was shaking. She then talked about ghosts. My poor little girl had her first truly frightening nightmare or my house is haunted by ghosts with scary mouths.
I finally got her to calm down a bit and she went back to sleep in my bed and this morning before I left she woke up a bit. She started talking about the mouths again. She said they were going to bite her. Then she said they were going to bite daddy and then everyone. She said one day she was going to be big like me and the mouth wouldn't get her anymore.
Dude, you guys, I have no idea how to help my baby! It's so sad. She was terrified and since it was all mental I couldn't take it away.
Delilah often is scared of random things like this. What helps us is every night before we leave the room, daddy makes a scene of kicking all the bad things (whatever she asks for) to be kicked out of the room.
Am I a hypocrite if I follow God on Facebook? He's pretty hilarious.

Jus got back from the doctor. I've been having awful pain just below my ribcage for a few weeks. Good news is it isn't gallbladder or a hernia. Dr didn't want to do bloodwork or c/t till I try Prilosecfor a bit. He thinks it's my stomach for whatever reason. We'll see if that helps. Also got a chance to talk with G's nurse. She said we could try another cream and try changing the brand of diapers again. No such thing as an easy fix. :-(
Also when I got home I found a dead squirrel outside of our patio :-(
Aaaaand now the 9 year old just came downstairs and threw up....hopefully the boy child doesn't too, I don't need all 3 puking. Lo was up every hour last night, but seems to be a bit better, I just made some homemade pedialyte that she's holding down now.
I don't feel like creating my own thread so I hope this is okay. Does anyone have this monitor? We have a Summer right now and it hasn't been working. We need to buy a new one but I don't feel like spending $200+ right now and this Motorola has pretty good reviews. Can anyone attest to that?
@COmama1314, I am so, so excited for you! Good luck today!
Hugs to you @merc5411. I hope maybe you guys can talk calmly today. My H gets fight amnesia too and it drives me crazy! I'm all for moving on, but I need closure from an argument for things to be better.
I really hate it when people schedule meetings late in the afternoon on the day before a holiday weekend. I have two conference calls later this afternoon and I can already tell it's going to be a struggle for me to pay attention! Yay to a 3 day weekend!
@merc5411 - I am sorry you and your husband are fighting. I hope you can sort it out and he will acknowledge that he hurt your feelings and apologize. My H acts very similar and changes the subject moments after an argument and I hate it because I need apologies and for him to admit he was being a douche.
After our meeting, our career advisor (nearing 70, wearing leggings as pants in the office, bright orange pixie cut) was walking me out and noticed some birds outside the window having a scuffle. Stopped, pointed them out to me, said:
"Look at those birds! They're either fighting or they're doing sex!"

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
@Mamasighs Yes, its perfectly normal to want to feed herself! Sometimes he grumbles that oh we should just feed her purees, then it would be easier... but I'm like uh at this age most people are moving away from purees and towards self-feeding anyways!
I feel like things could be better but I just don't know how to get there. I've tried talking to him before like... are you happy? In your ideal world what would your average day look like? But he just brushes me off.
My DH brushes me off about this kind of stuff too (and I'm a psychologist- which ironically probably makes him brush me off even more). Sometimes they just need to hear it from someone else -like anyone else who isn't their wife. Also @somerandomchick you've got a PM coming your way as soon as I can type it up.
Has he tried having a picnic, @somerandomchick ? He can get an old blanket and several plastic bowls full of foods for her to explore. At the end of the picnic, all he has to do is take off Ros' clothes (put new ones on), wrap them up in the blanket, and throw it all in the wash. The plastic bowls he can rinse and put in the dishwasher. No messy kitchen etc. I know you also live in a city so this involves going to a park, but I find it much easier than sticky messes in my home.
I love this idea @livvyx I suspect my LO would dump all of the bowls first thing, but I think I will try it soon.
@NKaeding I feel your frustration. I'm doing some coding for a ginormous data set (order of terabytes) and I've been stuck for 3 days now. Hope you're able to solve the issue today!
@rondosa he is adorable!!!
Is that chair a mini sized? I'm debating which size would be best for us.
Thanks @EagleWife! It's the "My First" Anywhere Chair from PBK...it's the smaller one, with the handle on the top. It fits him perfectly. It's funny, my BFF got it for him for his bday, and when she walked in with it I was thinking "good thing I got lazy" because that's what I was going to get Adrian from DH and I. Great minds think alike
Right now he treats it like a jungle gym but it's cute, he does fit in it really well.
@Audrey1787 I wrote you a post saying I'd be in your faction ( ;;) ), but the bump gods ate it. They are afraid of what will happen when the 10 most adorablest, smartest, babiest babies in the world get together.
Yay 7-11 babies. Slurpees 4 lyfe

Lots going on on this thread: Good luck @COmama1314 !!
Hugs to all the mamas who are dealing with sick babies, cranky husbands, rough home fronts.
High five to the birthday babies and the crawling babies!
L is in a funk the last few days. Not sleeping as well as she was (went from up 1-2 times to 3-5 times) she's not eating a lot for breakfast or lunch but will scarf dinner down and eat through the night. Maybe it's a growth spurt? Teething? Has a mind of her own? ::sigh::
As for the piece of crap father- he needs to be locked in a hot steamy car and die the same way he killed his kid. Done. What a sick person.
This just gets worse and worse. From the sounds of what I have read, the wife was involved too. I can't even begin to wrap my head around that. How do you go from feeling a child kick inside of you to this?
I need to stop reading it. I really thought that it was impossible that he did this on purpose. And I was just hoping that thought would be confirmed upon reading the evidence. Like maybe the police were overzealous.
Yeah no. Truly fucking horrible stuff.
I can't look at it...I can't handle stories like this anymore now that I have a child. Before I would have read it and been like OMG what a horrible person he needs to die. Now I have a whole new level of anger, pain and sadness for this sweet baby. I can't describe it but what I have heard on the radio is bad enough.
Welp, I think I'll skip reading that based on the reactions.
Yay Claire! Just in time for your birthday! @simone711

I just can't take that case. It hurts my body to think that someone could do that to their own child. They should be jailed for life. For LIFE, and never be eligible for parole. How's that for "child-free life"?

Thanks for the response @rondosa - I think the little chairs are a great idea. I'm seeing about ordering one for LO

ETA: are there like a dozen babies that were born on 7/11?
I think there was 16 on the list last year. I haven't seen how many Bumpies are still on the bmb lately. Maybe @NKaeding knows?
I was supposed to have a slurpee baby, but he got an early eviction notice via an almost emergency c-section.

I'm so sick to my stomach after reading that. There are no words.
Just read the transcript. Made me want to throw up and cry. Sick and twisted.
