Re: Just another SPAMic Monday

  • My house really needs to be cleaned, but it's too damn nice outside to be stuck in there. Ds1 is in his swimsuit, I'm about to lather ds2 in sunscreen, and then we will be outside alllll day. Momma needs a tan!

  • Also, starting tomorrow I'm going back to work full time because our full time cake decorator is having some health issues. I'm really sad. I don't want to. It's only supposed to be for 2 months but from what we have all heard about what is going on... It's more likely that she isn't coming back at all. I suppose we could use the extra money but I've really enjoyed being home with my boys 5 days a week :(
  • @MommyLovesLogan‌ May my good fortune be yours soon! :x

  • DH let LO fall off the bed this am, work sucks so far. Only 5 more work days after today until vacation so there is that.

My LO is giving my boob raspberries instead of nursing. She thinks she is hilarious.

I get this regularly as well. Milk EVERYWHERE.
    Oodles of fun. ;)
  • Sitting at the orthopedic center with DH for his broken foot from work training on Saturday. After 6 hours in the ER, a trip to medcheck/occupational health for drug screen, the center is trying to determine if the referral from the ER is sufficient. If we have to go back to the medcheck... I. Will. Be. Shitty. The damn discharge papers from the ER say very clearly, in black and white , follow up with orthopedic center on Monday morning.

I almost can't follow the board anymore I'm lost as to who is who. Being on mobile I can't see siggys and I'm lost:( and sad lol

    It's confusing for sure.

I think I'm still recognizable. I don't know how to do a siggy.

S had a rough night with some scream crying, pretty sure he's cutting a tooth. Poor kiddo. I was up with him from 3-4 snuggling. He finally went down, but was up crying again at 5. The worst part is I forgot my coffee at home when I left for work/daycare drop off. :((
  • I'm going to a concert at the end of August and have to leave J with a baby sitter for the first time. I want my BFF to do it, but my mom is being a dick and insisting SHE get the first baby-sitting experience. Love my mom, but she has such bad knees and arthritis, and there ain't no way she would be able to jump up and save J if something were to happen. It literally, LITERALLY, takes her at least 30 seconds to get up once she's been seated. I would only be okay with her watching him if she brought a more able bodies friend, (my dad has passed so she flies solo.)

I have no fuking clue how to tell her this because she's VERY sensitive and explaining it to her the way I did here won't work. I don't want to hurt her but I also can't leave J with someone who it's physically able to care for him.

@cboink - Do you want to know how or are you content? If you want the tutorial...........

Thanks I will play around with it later when I can get on a computer

    @cboink - I see your new name change.  And I approve ;)

    You inspired me.
  • Yesterday, we went to lunch at a restaurant. The waitress saw Jude and was talking to him, the usual "oh you're so cute..." Whatever. When she said "I know what YOU eat..."

Umm...what? He isn't even a super chubby baby. He just went from the 16% to the 70th, actually. So yeah, he's bigger than average, but not by a whole lot. Also, formula doesn't make babies fat. Stop, just stop.

But because I'm mousey, I said nothing. But I wanted to glare at her the rest of the time we were there.

  • I didn't put enough sunscreen under DS's eyes (he squirms like it's torture and I didn't want to get it in his eyes) and now they are burned. Major mom fail. I think I'll get those sunscreen sticks for under his eyes next time...

  • Congrats @eafogel!!

I have hand, foot and mouth that my daughter brought home from daycare. While I'm glad she didn't get it too bad at all, I want to punch the medical community that describes adult hand, foot and mouth as "mostly mild" in my google search. This is the most painful shit EVER!!!!!

Hopefully she just meant that he wouldn't be ordering food. I know people make shitty comments about formula all the time, but her comment could just be taken as not needing to take his order. Hell, it's something I could see myself saying to a young baby and I would never make comments about bm v. f. Plus, chubby babies are awesome. I'm sorry she hurt your feelings.
I didn't know you formula fed and when I read what she said I also assumed she meant he wouldn't be ordering food because he gets the boob. Maybe she didn't mean it like you thought??

    Congrats @eafogel!!

thesportsgal DH caught Hand Foot Mouth from daycare as well, but weirdly enough, the kids didn't have it.  I'm actually surprised at the number of incidents I've heard of adults catching it since google says it's not that common and like you said it's "mild".  It was soo NOT mild for him.  I hope you feel better soon!

I've been considering getting an IUD but now I'm not quite sure that's the way to go.
  • I don't remember who mentioned it a couple weeks ago, but I'm totally making beer bread French toast left over from last nights beer bread. :) super excited

I want to start a thread on what people think about the supreme courts ruling today that a workplace can deny birth control to employees due to religious reasons... But I don't know if I dare do it..

Eta- I don't want to do it to start drama, I am really sincerely wondering what others think of the decision.

This IUD talk has me nervous! So if I can feel the strings it's safe to assume it's properly placed still right?!? Also...fighting the urge to check said strings in the work bathroom.
HA! Same here!  I really hate digging around up there..lol

Can you make your mom and dad babysit while you run to the store before that or something?
I could have my mom stay for a store trip, but really that scenario would be way different than her having to watch him alone for 4-5 hours, yaknow? A 30 minute trip to the store, she probably could keep him entertained in one place (the couch), but 4-5 hours for a concert trip... She's have to play with him and toys, change a few diapers, make at least one to two bottles, and do at least one nap. All things that I think physically would be hard as fuck for her.
