Re: A regular chat

  • We don't do replacements/temps for ML. All the work just gets shoved to someone else. So right now I get to do about 20% of my supervisor's job. And I have no clue what the fuck I am doing most of the time.
  • Now I am paranoid about being pregnant.

    Excellent.

  • I hate my maternity leave replacement too.

Somehow I got roped into developing a giant training manual so she can look at anything I do, go to that page, and get step by step instructions.
I basically did this for all of my daily/weekly/abnormal task I do the last time I was on ML. I had to make it for my boss. I'm scared the next time around because he'll be the only one in the office while I'm out 3 months. I'm going to be getting several phone calls.

I was looking at this one today. DH asked me to buy a lighter stroller for Disney.

Everywhere else it's $140. Even with shipping it's a steal. I looked at them at Target and have had stroller envy since. I'm hoping we love it. We currently have a jogger, Peg Perego Pliko 3 I got from a women on CL, a First Years umbrella stroller and now this one. I kind of feel like I've covered all my basis. We're going on vacation next month and I wanted something compact for our hybrid Camry (that's why we want to take it, the gas mileage) yet is comfy for DS for the zoo and such. I love the teal color too.

  • I brought the dogs to the vax clinic last night. They are pretty well behaved dogs generally, they just bark a lot. As soon as I got there, with both kids and both dogs, the manager came over and asked if she could put the dogs in the back because they were disrupting all the other animals. Fine by me, I clearly have my hands full. I filled out all the paperwork and paid and was making small chat with the other pet owners and I got pulled aside by one of the techs. I guess the vet complained about my dogs still flipping out so he pushed us to the front of the line to get them out of there. The tech told me she would walk the dogs out the back so I should meet her there. As I was waiting for the dogs this woman was loudly complaining to her husband that she has been waiting forever and she knows I got there after her and she has been sitting outside with her dogs because they are aggressive instead of kenneling them in the back. She even said that if my dogs were so disruptive I should have been asked to leave. I didn't say anything to her but I'm still kind of upset about it. I never asked to be pushed to the front of the line, and honestly, I'm used to the barking. I easily could have kept them in the waiting room with everyone else without it bothering me.

Hope you feel better soon.  And don't get anymore poop pop ins in the near future.
So true!  I want a squish soooo bad!  I'm looking forward to my ML and just hanging out with an infant while W is at daycare.  That sounds crazy!

Not crazy.  I loved my ML with my 2nd.  Big kid went to daycare for 8 weeks and stayed home for 4 weeks.  The first 8 weeks were awesome.  Just snuggling with a baby was so nice.  Granted I was deliriously exhausted, but being my second, I kinda felt like I had a handle on the baby thing.

My little brother, who is one of my very best friends, has been stationed in Japan for the last two years. I found out yesterday that he is being reassigned to Camp Pendleton starting in January!!!!!!!!! That is only an hour away from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!

And THT, sorry you're sick, I hope you don't get too much morning sickness, it sucks so much ass. Always worth it of course, but fuck that.

That's awesome. My mom was born on Camp Pendelton:) I've always wanted to go.

I spent an hour fighting with one of those dumb plastic bag holders from Ikea that's going to make me oh so organized. I used painters tape, a measuring tape and a level. The damn thing should be aligned perfectly and stay on the effing wall!!!

I'm fulfilling the stereotype of lazy SAHM during naptime. I'm thinking about watching Scandal or taking my own nap. Where are my Bon bons? I have so much to do but feel poorly. Come on 2nd trimester.

That was my life during first tri this time around. I was appalled and disgusted when I finally got around to doing the dishes. Seriously, it was bad.

You'll get back around to it eventually. Rest (and Bon Bons) is more important right now!

When I was pregnant, practically every time my 2 year old napped, I napped.  I see nothing wrong with that.  ;)

Good lord I am fucking uncomfortable right now.

TB tells me that my baby is the size of a "honeydew" today.  Really? Because it feels more like a giant bowling ball.

Anthony babbled in his crib for about 2 hours on and off before finally passing out for his nap today. I'm watching house and trying to sleep, but I'm super hangry and we have no food in the house. I wish I could have someone to deliver but the dogs barking would wake him up. My mil wants to renew her marriage vows in Vegas in June 2016. Mh is way too into planning and I know it won't actually happen. She always makes huge elaborate plans and they never actually come to fruition. I did, however agree to saving up starting now for a trip around that time and figure I'll plan my own vacation for when she calls off her plans. I'm thinking myrtle beach, but I'm not sure why.
Can you put the dogs outside right before the delivery person comes, and open the front door so you see him coming and he doesn't have to ring the bell? That's always my solution to our lunatic dog barking and waking a child.

Typically less-weighty though.  At my appt last week they estimated 2.0 to be about 5.5 pounds.  It feels like 10...at least.  Seriously though.

That's what I do, or put them in a room where they won't hear the door or at least where they're further away from sleeping child.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with an annoying dog that barks.  ;)  Luckily our kids actually sleep through it 90% of the time.

I am contemplating going to the retirement reception for this guy who's a big deal that I've never met...just to get in on the free food.

Apparently it's going to be fancy though, and I'm wearing crops, a tanktop and flip flops.

    Sigh.

This will be my first girls trip since I was pregnant with A. I'm excited but nervous. The Golden rule I have for myself is: NO SHOTS. Because no good comes from that. Especially not in Vegas.

I wish I could bold this one million times over.  My last girl's weekend in Vegas (this last January) has forever ruined my love of tequila...and I'm pretty sure I'm banned from several casinos now.

BUT have a fabulous time, and enjoy all the mixed drinks, beer, wine that you can!

  • Ugh. Woke up to dozens of ants coming in from a random corner wall this morning. Killed them with reckless abandonment & Lysol wipes, then cleaned that patch of floor. Repeat 2 hours later. Repeat after lunch including vacuuming and sweeping. And more stupid fuckers came back once I came down from putting the boys down from their nap, which took about 20 min. We don't have any ant spray in the house and I feel as if I am fighting a losing battle. So, now I'm bumping.

But I will win the war. >:)

We got one day notice too. Our notice was the guys doing the road down from us and setting up cones in front of our house (they did one side of the road at a time. DH went out to talk to them because we were moving the next day and there was nothing they could do. Luckily, our street was a U so nobody got blocked in by our giant moving truck.

I seriously ate bread and/or French fries every day of the first trimester and well into the second. I kept Hawaiian sweet rolls in my desk drawer. 1st tri is a war zone, you do what you have to do to survive. I also ate at least 7,000 baked potatoes in the first 20 weeks.
I love this. Yup, tht, go with that. I hate 4x the normal amount of mashed potatoes for lunch.

You are all making me very hungry, but there is literally NO ROOM in my body for food. I cannot wait for this time next week when I can actually eat a whole meal (or after 5pm) without having it kicked out of me.

I want a baked potato from the hospital, last time they were the best potatoes I'd ever eaten.
