New to group and need advice. FIRST POST

I had a miscarriage this year in January. I am now pregnant again as of May. I ovulated a couple of days later so my date is May 19th or 20th. I have had 3 ultrasounds. All have showed growth each time but have yet to see a heartbeat. They told me today I am measuring at 5w 6d. I'm supposed to be about 7w or 7w 1d. I'm so nervous. Has anyone had this happen? Measuring small but continued on for a successful pregnancy? Please any advice to ease my mind would help.

    I have been very well monitored. They just didn't seem very optimistic yesterday. Maybe they didn't want to give me hope if it's bad. I go back next Wednesday again. It's just the wait that is making me nuts! It hasn't even been 24 hrs.

    When I had my ultrasound I was measuring 9 days early, so it definitely does happen! My doc seemed to think it was very normal so try to relax and stay calm :) I don't think most people see the heartbeat when they are measuring at 5 weeks anyway. Hopefully at your next appointment!

    At this point there really isnt anything you can do. As previously stated your doctors are following you, thats really all you can ask for. I know its hard, but try as much as possible to relax. Hopefully you get to hang out with us for the long haul.

     Loss and IF veteran. Current mom of DS 5.5, DD 2, and sometimes DH 40. Due June 2021 with TWINS

    There isn't likely a heartbeat that early anyway so I wouldn't worry! As far as you thinking you were 7wks, maybe you ovulated later?

    BFP 5/21/10, Missed m/c 7/5/10 at 11w3d (baby measured 7wks), D&C 7/7/10

    Aug/Sept 2010 - CD3&10 b/w & u/s, genetic testing, SA, HSG, & Lap/Hyst to remove septum

    12/09/10 BFP -- 7/05/11 DS born at 33w5d. Came home after 23d in NICU at 37w0d

    June 2012 - TTC #2! -- 10/05/12 BFP --  5/23/13 DS2 born at 37w1d! Yay full term!

    Surprise BFP 6/25/14 LO#3 due Feb2015!

    I'm sorry that your doctors were not very optomistic. All I can say is, Hang in there!

    I've measured earlier than I thought for both pregnancies by about a week and a half. I obviously don't know how this one will turn out, but my other pregnancy was successful. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. Also, like other posters are saying, they can't always find the heartbeat in the first 5/6 weeks and, just to prepare you, when they do, the u/s tech may say it's low. I've heard this for both now and the doc has said both times it's right on track as it just starts to beat around 21/22 days and picks up about 3bpm a day. Too bad the techs feel obligated to say something... damn liability. Good luck and hang in there!
