I think it's cute, but is it too cute?

I can't picture a grown professional woman named Molly, but who says she would be a professional, right?! Lol. We actually know of 2 adult Molly's- but somehow it seems more "acceptable" on them- small town, laid-back, SAHM-types? How's that for stereotypical... you know what I mean!

I like Molly. I don't think it's too cutsie at all. I had a senior VP named Molly, so I can see a professional having the name too.

Molly is just so/so for me - I have a hard time picturing an adult with the name, even though I know two. It's little girlish to me.

If you want to consider that, I'd pick Mary or one of its variations (Maryann, Marian, Maren) and use Molly as the nickname.

I would say use Molly as a nn.  Could you use Margaret?  I thought that was a full name for Molly.

You could choose a name like Amolia or Amelie and use Molly as a nickname.

I like the name Molly, but I will say that DH won't let me name and of our children that because he thinks it sounds like something you would name a pet.

I have only known one Molly and she had a big huge mole in her eyebrow so you thought of Mole-y.  Despite that....I can see it as a grown up name!

I have never heard it used as a NN.  I love the name and it was on our list.it can deff. be a name by itself and I think it is perfect for a grown up or child.

We almost named DD Molly.  It was on the top of our list.  We went with Maureen instead.

I love the name Molly, but as several PPs have said, it's definitely a nickname.

(I had a really good friend named Molly who was always embarrassed that she had a nickname for a full name.  It didn't help that we were friends with another girl named Molly whose full given name was Mary.)

I love the idea of using Molly as a nickname for Margaret -- very original!

Well we are most likely naming our DD that so I obviously love it.  I have only known adult Mollys, I have never even met/seen a child with that name so I don't think it's too cutesy.
