NBR: I don't want to get my rings resized

I'm still not able to wear my rings. Does anyone else have this issue. Every week I'm slowly able to get them on my fingers a little bit more. But they are still tight. Has any of you guys have to get your rings resized? It's been like 7-8months that I haven't worn them. I miss them.

Re: NBR: I don't want to get my rings resized

  • I took mine in to have them resized at 3 wks pp bc I was freaking out. (Obvs hormones). The jeweler would not do it. She said they advise all women pp to wait at least 2-3 months before having resized. Since that's how long it typically takes for the swelling to be gone.

  • Mine are on. Could be resized though. But I'm giving it time in case.

Mine are really tight and I keep worrying about this. Glad to hear there may be hope though still.

  • I'm glad to hear it's not just me. My fingers don't feel swollen but clearly they are I just can't see it.
  • I am unwilling to resize them. The only way I would is if I got back down to my prepregnancy weight and they still didn't fit.

The kids almost 4 weeks now and they still don't fit. But I did gain 62lbs...

  • I would wait until you're back at your pre-pregnancy weight to consider resizing them. It may take some time, but you'll get there & they should fit again (unless they didn't fit well before). I know it's hard to not wear them for so long, but maybe buy a fun temporary ring you can wear as a right hand ring later.

I was thinking about having mine resized before I got pregnant, since I was under my normal weight at my wedding anyways & they've been a bit tight for years. After not wearing them for 4 months though, the dent in my finger went away & I can't get them back on. I took mine in last week to resize them, but I'm already 3.5 mo postpartum (I had my son at 30w).

Same here. I did get them resized after my first pregnancy and then when I lost the weight, I am sad to say I have not worn my favorite one in over 3 years, because I am hesitant to have it sized down again. I am about 15 lb away from my pre-baby weight and my smallest ring goes past the knuckle but won't sit where it is supposed to, so I would wait until you get back to post baby weight and see if they fit then!

  • Hopefully my situation is not typical, but after my second baby I lost all of the baby weight PLUS an extra 15 pounds, which put me right at what I weighed when I got married, and my rings were STILL too tight, especially in warm weather/humidity.  I could wear only one of them, either just the wedding band, or just the engagement ring, but otherwise they were much too tight and I have difficulty getting them over the joint on my finger.  :-(  Waiting until we are for sure done having babies and I am back down to the weight I want to be before getting them resized.

So sad!  I miss wearing them.  I've been wearing a ring that used to be my grandmother's in it's place.  (It's beautiful, but not the same.)

  • With ds1 I wanted to get them resized at like 6 weeks pp but waited. By 3 months the fit perfect and by 6 were to big! Luckily I never sized down because now I am back at them going on but being snug.

I am just about 8 weeks PP and within 5 lbs of prepregnancy weight and mine are no where near fitting. I tried putting them on in the shower with shampoo to help and no such luck. My engagement ring and wedding band are soldered together and they were tight before getting pregnant. I'm waiting til 12 weeks PP and then will re size if they still don't fit.

  • Mine fit, but they are tight. I can get them off at night, but usually i try to wash my hands and remove them with soap so I don't have to sit there and fight with them.
  • I was never able to get them back on from my first pregnancy, sadly. In a couple months I will bite the bullet and get them sized up a bit. I haven't worn them for two years!
