Adventure seekers?

I feel like i have been grounded this year...my hobbies and pregnancy don't mix. Any adventure seekers out there? What is the biggest adventure so far and what is next?

For me

So far... Cotopaxi in Ecuador 19,000 + feet

Next... Kilimanjaro, technically easy, low risk, relatively quick turn around. 2016...so far away. My risk tolerance has already gone through the floor X_X

Re: Adventure seekers?

  • Awesome pic! I haven't done anything that cool.....yet! Would love to.

  • We traveled halfway around the globe last year and went to Fiji.

We had planned another trip, particularly for surfing, but those plans are on hold. Doesn't look I'll get to do very much of that this summer. :-/

  • Depends what you consider adventures. For me, challenging races are adventuresome. I'm completing a spartan sprint in July and have a half marathon in Nov.

  • ...oh I am all about adventure. Maybe not a climb to Kilamanjaro..but  I am looking at a back pack saddle trip in wyoming or montana. I love horses and camping so mix the two together awesome. That won't be till well yeah 2016.

I have nothing really planned for this year other than some beach trips nothing to rave about, but in the past have been all over the world did some bungee jumping in different locations.

I ran a couple 1/2 marathons this year...but the 3rd felt awful from m/s and heat (stopped short of 8 miles). And a marathon relay which also felt terrible...so I am is awe of women who keep running. Good luck on your races!

  • I live hiking. We've climbed several volcanoes in Central and South America (two were active). The most challenging one was snow-covered. It took about 4.5 to get to the top from the start.

One year ago we hiked the W in Chile. It was ridiculous. Not especially challenging, but still a very awesome hike.

I would love to go to Peru or Nepal someday, but I think the next big trip on our list will be Iceland.

  • We just got back from Red Rock in Vegas where we were rock climbing.  My husband has a trip planned for August that I backed out on since I don't think I'll be up for any long climbs that far along.  I still plan on top roping easy stuff until I can't anymore.  We also enjoy hiking a lot, last year we traveled to Denver and climbed Longs Peak.  We'd love to move out there so we could hike and rock climb all the time!

  • We also did the W circuit in Chile in September for our honeymoon. Loves it and would go back in a heartbeat. My husband just summited rainier this past weekend and this week we are booking a trip to Peru to do macchiato pichhu (backpacking not shuttle bus) in August before I start getting too big. We will hire someone to carry my bags (which is cheap $36 a day) so I just need to worry about the hike part :) then lay low until baby can tag along. We too want to summit Kilamanjaro
  • Stupid auto correct on phone. You know what I meant!
  • Ps I got this text this morning from hubby. How sweet!!
  • I have plans to run a 100 miler in 2016. That's my kind of adventure

I'm sorry that sucks. I know if I had m/s I wouldn't be running. Thanks for the well wishes!
