Double Jogging Stroller with Car seat Adapter!

My son will be 21 months when his little sister arrives the end of Sept. I really need some help finding a jogging stroller that has a car seat adapter for the newborn. We have the Chicco car seat and we do lots of walking, so something easy for both a toddler and baby is a must!  I found the InStep Tandem Safari Jogging Stroller online, but it is sold out everywhere. Any suggestions, please!! :)

Thanks!

Re: Double Jogging Stroller with Car seat Adapter!

  • I have the double BOB jogger and car seat adapter and LOVE it. I use it all of the time, not just for jogging. My infant seat is a Graco but I know its also compatible with other brands.

Not a Jogging stroller, but we have the Contours Optiona Tandem Stroller & it works great for everything!! Plus tons of storage space.
  • I'll be getting the Citi Mini double jogging stroller. I've heard so much good about it!  I can't wait!!
  • We got the City Select stroller by Baby Jogger. I had to buy a car seat adaptor and of course paid a freaking fortune for it, but I think it will be worth every penny from what I have heard.

  • @suitern @kendradee13 Neither of those strollers are jogging strollers just FYI. They are actually suggested NOT to use for jogging. Baby  Jogger is just the brand...

  • When my sister was looking a jogging strollers she originally wanted a BOB but the sales person sold her on the City Elite by Baby Jogger, it folds a lot easier than the BOB and it has foam filled tires instead of air filled. I think Baby Joggers double jogging stroller is called the Summit X3 Double and I know they have car seat adapters. I was going to get the double jogger, but decided to go with the City Select since it seemed to be more practical for me and I really dont jog.

Yeah, I've seen that it's not meant for jogging, but I only plan to walk... and OP sounded like she would only be walking too.

Anyone planning on JOGGING with 2 kids is a freaking machine.  LOL

We love our BOB double! I use it everywhere from outside walks (we don't jog lol) to inside at the mall.. It pushes like a dream!!!

Exactly what she said-I don't plan on jogging and do lots of walking-exactly what OP said...I understand fully that Baby jogger is the brand and it isn't meant for jogging...I've done my research, thanks though.

  • If you are actually jogging or walking at a fairly decent pace I would def get a real jogging stroller or a "rugged" all terrain stroller. A four wheeled stroller (ie city select) doesn't sound like a good option at all. At least get a three wheeled one with a lockable front wheel. Plus it'll make it easier to push. I don't have any suggestions about double strollers though... I haven't researched that yet (since this is number 1) just single strollers.

Since the OP specifically asked for JOGGING strollers and you both suggested NOT JOGGING strollers, it seemed worth pointing out for those reading the thread

The snark is a little unnecessary. YOU may have done your research and feel comfortable with your decisions but not everything is very clearly stated in this thread and it's very good/relevant information for others who many be reading this thread to have.
I guess I just assume that people aren't going to blindly listen to someone on an internet chat forum and go out and buy whatever someone recommends without doing any research on their own first...

  • @suitern nobody is saying you picked a bad stroller - I think some of the people who have commented to you have the same one actually - and it's great! I just fail to see how it was helpful at all for you to suggest a non jogging stroller to someone who asked about jogging strollers. It's a confusing issue, and if you've done your research (and good for you!) you know that this is a common mix up people make. Why further confuse someone on an issue that is so potentially dangerous to their kids?

When I read it, she did specifically say that she was going to do alot of walking, so I thought I would throw it out there. I should have put in a disclaimer that it wasn't specifically a jogging stroller last night when I responded.....I didn't, so I apologize.

No harm, no foul - as long as people don't jog with non jogging strollers :) Hope all is well :)

Thank you everyone! I guess I should have been more clear - I'm thinking jogging stroller because I will be using it A LOT...not necessarily jogging with it. Just a stroller question, no need for the drama :) !

I appreciate everyone's comments though, definitely help me to what to look for. We will be going out and looking this weekend.
  • Most jogging strollers have a locked front wheel (some adjust and can be unlocked).  Locked wheels are great for running, but suck (imo) for walking.  Definitely something to watch out for if purchasing a designated jogging stroller just for walking.
