Help!! Still leaking - what do I try?

I have been reading on here for a while but have never posted. My son is almost 11 weeks and weighs a little over 12lb. I have Alva Baby pockets and I really like them - when they don't leak! They seam to fit well and sometimes he can go hours without leaking then he will just go a little bit and be soaked. I am using the microfiber inserts, often doubled. Should I try a different insert? Is bamboo or hemp more absorbent? Or is something else better? I am really confused and I don't have much $ to keep trying things so I really need some advice! Thank you for any input

Are they soaked when you change him? How often do you change?

Leaking in the daytime when being changed every couple of hours. At night we usually don't leak... Maybe because of less movement? But when I look at the diapers that have leaked they seam to be snug enough... The inserts are usually pretty wet. The double is pretty bulky which I really don't like but seams to be the only way to not leak every time.

Alva's can work great, but they are a cheaper diaper.  Sometimes they have batches of PUL that are faulty or other issues.

Do as the others suggest.  Check for leg gaps (lift the legs and see if this causes any gaps).  Check the inserts to see if they are soaked or dry when you have leaks.  Look to see where they are leaking (seam, legs, middle, out the top, out the back).

And change every 1.5-2 hours.  

Alva's also run a little bigger than most pockets.  This might cause some fit issues.

If you feel like it's an absorbency issue, I'd try different inserts. Try some prefolds. They are cheap and worst case scenario you can use them as burp cloths or cleaning rags if they don't work.

Even cheaper than prefolds, but good absorbency-flour sack towels from Walmart. You can get them 5 for $5. Fold them up and use as a doubler
