I think I'm gonna like it here...

Another refugee from D14 coming via the invitation.  I know, I know.. but you guys seem like much more fun, much more sane people.  And I'm really not D14.  I'm originally O12.  Unless you go waaaay back to my days on The Knot.

I've been lurking for a few days, and while I was not too terribly involved in all the D14 drama (I did say my piece on MM when I finally caught up, but it was so late in the game that it really didn't matter anymore) I totally respect what was done there.  And on A13.  Crazy folks over there, huh?

About me: I spend my time working, chasing around a toddler, and being nerdy with my hubby and our friends.  I sing in a community choir and was very involved with community theatre until I had my son - taking a break right now because if I did a show, I would never see him.  I have a sunburn today for the first time in several years.  Not sure why that's relevant but it's what I'm thinking about the most right now.  I'm AMA (37) so my file at my doctor's office is red.  It is not awesome to be reminded that I'm OLD every time I go there.  I say I don't care about the sex of our unborn child, but I really want a girl so we will have one of each.  ;)

Anyway, I'd love to play here if possible.  But I realize I must first pass the test.  Here are my answers.

Soft pants - are you talking about the fashion trend (that kind of looks like smaller versions of MC Hammer pants to me... anyone?  anyone?) or pants that are soft.  I don't have any of the former, but the latter is absolutely vital.  Who wants to walk around wearing hard pants?  lol
Cilantro - love it.
Beets - eew.
One Direction - I don't think I've ever heard a full song of theirs.  I listen to European gothic metal (obscure enough for you?) mostly, but I love a huge variety of music from opera to 80's hair bands.
Sherlock - have not watched, but have been told I should.  Is it on Netflix yet?  I feel a binge coming on...
Doctor Who - Love it!  David Tennant is on my list.
Taking the cart back - I become enraged when people don't take the cart back.  Righteous indignation.  If I could haul my 8 months pregnant ass to the cart return (with my first child, obviously not this one) to avoid leaving it somewhere else, so can everyone else.
Wearing underwear - Sometimes it's fun to go without.  ;)
Harry Potter - Fan girl for sure!  I read my newborn the Harry Potter books during maternity leave - mostly because I wanted to read them again.  We also read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The Hunger Games - Love it.  Got interested after watching the first movie and then read all three books in just a couple of weeks.  There are some flaws, of course, but I choose to overlook them in light of the creativity of the world that was created.
Outlander - Have not read/watched.  Should I?
Game of Thrones - LOVE.  Jon Snow is on my list too.
The Mortal Instruments - I'm pretty sure my book club is talking about this series.  If we don't read them, I'm sure I will on my own.
All Souls Trilogy - Haven't read, but it looks like something I would probably enjoy.
The Infernal Devices - Sounds interesting.
Empire Records - Have not seen - is this automatic disqualification?
Dazed and Confused - Love!  I own the soundtrack - great driving music.
Ever After - Completely adorable.  I love Drew Barrymore.  She's on my list too... lol.
Dead Poets Society - O Captain, my Captain.  This is my favorite movie of all time.  Walt Whitman is my favorite poet because this movie inspired me to dig into his life and his poetry and in so doing, I realized he was absolutely brilliant.
Center Stage - freaking love this movie.  guilty pleasure?  or just pleasure?  Not sure which, but it's still awesome.
The Sandlot - I actually haven't seen this movie and I have no idea how that happened.

    Rammstein? KMFDM? German metal bands
I know Rammstein (Du hast!) but not KMFDM.  My current favorites are Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Epica, mostly the bands with female vocalists who were (or who sound like they were) classically trained.  I also really like In Flames (totally different from the above) and on a completely different side of the spectrum, am currently completely obsessed with Blackmore's Night.  If you haven't heard them and you enjoy a folksy, Renaissance Faire sort of sound, give this a listen.  https://youtu.be/JvJwEu9ghvM
