Wednesday check-in

How are you doing today? Do you have anything to rant or rave about?

How involved are you in local politics? Have you ever considered running for your municipality's council or commission or for another office? Or do you focus more on national and international politics?

  • How are you doing today? Do you have anything to rant or rave about? Good, of course up early on my day off. I was told yesterday I was going to be huge  by a co-worker and my grandma asked me if I'm sure there's not 2 in there. Big bellly issues.

How involved are you in local politics? Have you ever considered running for your municipality's council or commission or for another office? Or do you focus more on national and international politics? Not involved AT ALL, I guess I could be slightly more involved but I have desire.

    Zzzzzzz....

I work for a city, so I have an insider's perspective on how unrealistic our local elected officials are. No way would I ever run for office, since I know I couldn't win an election with a platform based on working effectively with the city's employees.

my back is still hurting pretty bad...  but at least I am able to walk.  Yesterday it was really hard.  I'm trying to keep stretching so that it loosens up.  Other than that I am feeling pretty good.  My heartburn and acid reflux seem to mostly come up in the evening and maalox is keeping that in check.

Or do you focus more on national and international politics? I'm not a political person.  I'm a horrible liar and I think I am actually too passionate about things to be objective.

Good today today as its a day off. I am going to cook !

Follow politics semi- closely- mostly international or local. Skip the national. No interest in being involved myself anyway

I am so tired again today! We have had some crazy storms the last 2 nights and I couldn't sleep the night before that, so I am running on empty, and when I try to nap I can't! go figure... I hope I find sleep and my energy again some day, I am just not used to this.

  • How are you doing today? Do you have anything to rant or rave about?  Doing pretty good.  Schroeder has been quite active recently and I think the Braxton Hicks are starting up.

How involved are you in local politics? Have you ever considered running for your municipality's council or commission or for another office? Or do you focus more on national and international politics?  I am not really involved in politics - I tend to follow the political trends and loved studying international politics in college, but have no interest in being involved directly.

I am decent today. I've had a lot of growing pains. I went home yesterday from work because of them. LO is really starting to pack a punch these days!

I'm not at all involved in politics. I'm sure there are a small number of people out there working to make a difference but it just sounds exhausting to me. I try to stay out of the political debates. I get so tired of people playing the politics of things instead of just doing what's best for everyone. I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine!

I wish I could say I was doing good or even just fine. That would've been my answer yesterday. The worst part is it's NBR and I know I shouldn't really let something like this worry me but it does. I found out yesterday that I've been permanently disqualified from flying status. I expected this would happen, but not two weeks after the info was sent up to HQ. I've never seen a decision like this turned back this fast.

So basically, I'll never fly again. I'll never get to do the job I love again. I can't even begin to describe how that makes me feel. DH can't understand why I'm so upset and I don't even know how to explain how it makes me feel.

Not really into politics in general. I can't run for even a city level position while I'm in the military because of a DoD law instituted in 2009. Basically, I have my views and when it gets close to elections, I do my research then and choose the best candidate that represents what I believe. I'll also add that I'm a moderate, so I'm flexible on a lot of those issues.

  • I'm feeling okay today.  I keep starting to feel like I can't take a deep breath in the evenings, which is annoying.  I also didn't sleep very well last night so I'm tired, but other than that I'm okay.

As far as local politics, it really depends on the issue.  Some things I care about, but others I don't.  If I care, I'll write a letter or go to a meeting or something.  Mostly I just try and stay informed enough to intelligently vote.

  • @nightowl1989 I'm so sorry you were grounded :-( I can imagine how my DH would feel had that been taken away from him. Completely understand why you would be upset

  • @MRSClark08 - Good for you to find some things to be positive about today! Enjoy the rest of the week off and your parents 50th. (And re: toxic smell - I've dealt with that myself with some new baby stuff - but DH as assured me its just my crazy super sniffer).

@kfitzguerra - Congrats on A/S and baby boy, but sorry about previa.

@nightowl1989 - so very sorry about being grounded. I can't imagine how that must feel, but I know it can't feel good. Hugs for you.

I'm very good today. Still achy and my running has become more of a run/walk these days as my calves and feet start to hurt half-way through, but overall feeling positive. Per my last post just a moment ago, had a great follow-up A/S with kidney's now down to normal size. Yay! So happy about that. Everything else is measuring right and though baby isn't kicking enough for my liking is doing it regularly at night now to let me know he/she is in there. On this scan baby showed just curled up in a ball very high up in my uterus - which accounts for why I feel no movement during the mornings - apparently that is baby's nap time :) and also accounts for my recent terrible acid reflux - baby needs to move down a bit. ;)

How involved are you in local politics? Have you ever considered running for your municipality's council or commission or for another office? Or do you focus more on national and international politics? Don't get involved in politics. I keep an eye on what is going nationally and internationally as well as statewide - but don't really get involved.

  • Feeling good and round today. Kinda tired. Yesterday I took a super long nap and I kind of want one again now. Back to first trimester?

I am involved in local politics by way of running a community organization that promotes the arts in our area. So I tend to find out which local elected officials are aligned with our goals, who is working hard, and who isn't. I have considered making a run in the distant future but this organization takes up an abundance of my time already.
