Body Pillow

I know it's late in the game to be considering buying one, but do they help at all with relieving pelvic pressure? With DS I used regular pillows to help with back and hip pain. Pelvic pressure this go around has been much more intense and if a full body pillow will help, I will get one today!

Re: Body Pillow

  • I've used one since 16 weeks and I've had no hip or pelvic issues at all. I'm not sure if it's because of the pillow or due to another reason.

  • It helps me for that reason.

  • I just got a U-shaped pregnancy pillow this week out of desperation for a better night sleep with less pain.  It's been 2 nights and I can already tell a difference.  I say go for it!

  • I have used one since the beginning. Boppy makes one that looks like a comma. It's great. I also use a body pillow.

  • I bought a snoogle around 16 weeks & totally worth it! Even if it is for just a few more weeks!

  • I just have a regular body pillow that I've used for years. It helps a TON. I actually think I need to replace mine because I've had it for so long it's losing it's fluff. But, I will just pick one up at a Gordman's or Marshall's without spending much.

If I felt like it wasn't helping I would have splurged for a higher priced contoured one, but it's worked out just fine.

  • I bought a 100$ u-shaped pillow 2 years ago to snuggle with. This is something I have loves for years! I highly recommend it, but can't attribute the comfort because it was the best purchase in years years ago. I got it off amazon.

I use the comma-shaped one, and love it.  The full body pillows were too big for my tastes.  I do get hip pain almost nightly, but that's something I had trouble with before pregnancy, too.

  • I actually meant a pregnancy pillow like the Boppy, but I'll save the $60 they're going for at Target and go for a regular body pillow. Thanks ladies!

  • I appear to be the voice of dissent here but I can't stand my snoogle. It's too wimpy. I need more volume so I use four regular pillows propped around my body and would consider more if I could still get out of bed to pee easily!

  • I used a question mark shaped pillow for awhile.  But lately it is harder to move and get up at night to go pee with that pillow surrounding me.  So I've gone back to a regular pillow between my knees, a wedge under the belly bump, and a "husband" pillow so that my head is elevated.
  • I'm currently sleeping with my regular body pillow, under head pillow and 2 extra full size pillows. You ladies are making me think its time to invest in a U shaped pillow.

  • Totally worth it! I travel with mine everywhere because I can't imagine a night without it.

  • Totally worth it, I also have a pregnancy wedge pillow made by boppy that I love for supporting the bump. It find it some much more comfortable that trying to use the body pillow for that. The body pillow I use for hip/leg support and to help me from rolling on my back too much.

  • I have a snoogle and the pros unfortunately are slightly more then the cons- it totally helps with the pain, and gives good support. First I used it just for legs and belly, this time I make a little circle bed just for me, and lay in it so my hips barely touch the bed.

It takes up too much room and I hate scaling it to pee and the stupid thing pisses me off so bad, I can't wait until it's out of my bed, but I won't sleep without it. A reg. body pillow is good if you only need to jam it under a belly and between your knees, but it wouldn't work for hos I need it now, just FYI. BFing pillows are for just that. They wouldn't really work for us in bed pregnant, IMO.

  • I started having trouble sleeping around 22 weeks and DH got me a snoogle. Totally changed my life! I sleep like the dead now. Even find myself waking up to pee less frequently. Definitely worth the money.

I've got a Snoogle and I'm considering divorcing my husband and marrying the pillow.  It's fantastic, especially these last few weeks.

I have the same love hate relationship with my snoggle. If I bought another one, I would try the mini snoggle!

I'm so pissed at my snoogle.  I can't figure out what to do with my arms and I keep waking up with them trapped, and I can't get out of bed. I didn't have these issues last time, I don't know what my problem is.   I have a comma shaped boppy one that I think I will go back to, but I'd like a wedge for under the belly, and I need something behind my back to I don't roll onto my back...sigh, that's why I got the snoogle out.  Love hate indeed.

  • @LenaLove‌ I started sleeping with the open side towards the side of my bed I roll out of with my shoulder on top of the pillow and my head resting on a normal pillow. I also cuddle a normal pillow as well. This lets the snoggle be my back support and in between leg support but the cuddle pillow I can easily toss behind me in the middle of the night to get up. Good luck!!! :-(
