As a military brat myself I have to disagree with this one- my dad was gone a TON when I was little and my mom stayed home with us- was it ideal for any of us, no, but I've turned out just fine, have experienced a lot of the country and really think it's made me more adaptable in general. These jobs are incredibly risky (as are so many others like police officers, fire fighters, etc.) but someone has to do them- and I guarantee you not many people would it if also meant you weren't allowed to have a family because it wasn't fair that you weren't going to be around enough. Just my 2 cents.

I am super girly but I can not stand Disney princess stuff. It drives me crazy. I also can't stand childrens books geared twords girls that have zero substance, except to be pink and frilly. Such as those pinkalicious books. Barf!

I kiss my DD a lot and all over the place. Including her lips. I didn't when she was super small and had little immunity system. I can't fathom not kissing her all the time. She also loves to give me big, wet kisses. They are the best! She is showing her love! Once your babies get here, you might (or might not) feel different. But I can guarantee you will feel different about the kisses THEY give.

I agree with @knitsmagee. Mostly kisses as an infant were on the head and cheeks, and I don't like other family to kiss DS on the mouth, but know that he is nearly 3, he gives me kisses on the mouth all the time, and every night before bed. I love the kisses!!!! DH thinks it is weird though and only lets DS kiss him on the cheek.

My UO is that I can never think of a good UO. I love reading it, but I guess I am too susceptible to the majority...

@excitedpreggo12 I agree my dh tries to get kisses and ds won't give them to anyone but myself. I'm OK with that fully.
On my previous bmb the question was brought up when we were all about 6 months along. Then when the babies were about 6 months and there were a lot of people who had different opinions once their babies were older. Not that everyone did change their opinions but it was neat to see.

I think people on this board are too nice to some of the absurd comments/threads from Newbies we get on this board. 

I know we're a kittens/rainbows/glitter type board but I don't think it's a bad idea to question some of these comments when warranted. Might actually get these crazies to move on over to a site like Baby Gaga where being uninformed about reproduction and pregnancy is rewarded.

Yes, that one specifically right now given OP's strong stance on reading "somewhere online" that it was ok to not take prenatals. 

But generally with some of these new threads, I think asking questions back is not a bad idea - especially when they are trending on the side or ridiculous or over-thinking or over-freaking-out.

I'm so with you on this one - all the princess/pink shit drives me bananas.  The "girls" section at Toys R Us makes me want to barf!  Just the fact that there are books called "Pinkalicious" shows there is something very wrong with how society views girls.

Oh, and I just wanted to add, I LOVELOVELOVE it when DS gives me kisses.  Honestly, it is one of my very favourite things on the planet.  On the mouth, for the record.  He has finally learned how to close his mouth for kisses, which is nice (and so cute!), but the open mouth slobbery ones were awesome too.

That's just ridiculous that your on team "I love everyone that has a genetic avatar and don't care if you change it". Do you know WHY we tell people to change their avatars? Its so we can get to know them better. I have been posting here since February and I'm 99% of the time on mobile so I can't see anything but an avatar. I think I can speak for a lot of the regulars when I say that changing your avatar can make a HUGE difference in us remembering someone. Its not because we are being mean its so we can remember who is who and if me saying to people "change your avatar" hurts anyone's feelings then oh well, get the fuck over it....and go change your avatar.

I was like this too with DD. But then I found this facebook mom site that i got two black garbage bags full of clothes for $60 and most were like new. I rather have had me downs when the kid is an infant because they grow so fast that used clothes still are like new. When they get older and don't grow as fast then I don't mind paying for new ones because they last way longer.

Or this one find was a bag of really good brand clothing like new for super cheap. I would have never bought a 50$ dress for a one year old. but for a buck...ya.

Clothes in good condition I have no problems taking.  I'm talking more the "big ticket items" like strollers, baby bedding, etc.  I'm not a total snot, haha.

Its so we can get to know them better. I have been posting here since February and I'm 99% of the time on mobile so I can't see anything but an avatar. I think I can speak for a lot of the regulars when I say that changing your avatar can make a HUGE difference in us remembering someone. Its not because we are being mean its so we can remember who is who and if me saying to people "change your avatar" hurts anyone's feelings then oh well, get the fuck over it....and go change your avatar.

i had a generic avatar for a while becasuse i didnt realize how important it was to have something specific. i'm usually on a computer and can see siggys so i didn't get the big deal but now i couldn't agree more. it makes it SO much easier to get to know people and **connect**

Agree with both of you on this one. I'm very girly, but I find the stuff aimed at girls really awful these days. When I was a kid I liked to wear dresses and play with dolls, but I also wore my brother's hand me down Superman t-shirts and played with trucks. I don't think girl stuff was quite so pink and sparkly back then, but I could be wrong.

I think we're a good combination of glitter and snark. I think for the most part we can bring it when needed, support when needed and shit glitter when needed.
But I also tend to be a little more happy happy then most.

As a religious person I feel like its important that I connect experiences/things in my life to my relationship with God and do so on Facebook. That being said, there are people who post things relating to different religions on Facebook that I want to call out for their bad logic/lack of connection to how they actually live their lives, but I don't do it. I don't because I don't think Facebook is the appropriate forum to do so. Facebook generally isn't the way to get to know what someone really thinks or believes especially if they post a ton, which is why when I say something I try to make it really meaningful. I pay more attention to the people who rarely post because I assume its more important to them.

When people reference Baby Gaga, I kind of laugh. I used to be on there, with my first pregnancy. The girls there are MEAN. Or at least they were. The meanest of all the forums I have ever been a part of. Not sure how it is now, but a puppies and rainbows site IMO would be Cafe mom or justmommies.

Oh, and my UO: Hash tag activism is bs. That's a little extreme but it's what I always want to declare. Just because you say something, doesn't mean anything. You need to back your words up with action. You want to "bring our girls back"? Call your congressman/woman and tell them you care. It takes two seconds to post a viral #, but that's about the amount of care I assume you put into the topic. I think it's really important to talk about issues (beause knowledge is power), but it's just as important, if not more so, to act on issues. You think it's rediculous the amount of money 1st world countries waste while babies starve elsewhere? Spend less and sponsor a child, don't just repost an info graphic.

In summary, commiserating on a trending hot issue isn't the same as acting.

I agree. If you aren't putting any effort into helping yourself (like googling your question, reading at least the first page of a message board you're going to post on, etc), why should I be so open to help you? Especially when you are asking completely ridiculous questions? Not to mention, a lot of these posters will probably not be back to participate on the board.

I think you should feel free to be yourself. We're not all always going to agree with each other on everything, and that's ok.

I'm on mobile too and it still isn't a big deal to me. I don't care if anybody doesn't like multiple threads or AWs either. Just means we have a differing opinions and that's ok.

I may just start giving ridiculous answers when these ask and run posters post. In fact, I might go tell vitamin girl that taking vitamins is never really necessary. They are just a ploy by pharmaceutical companies to get people to spend money. Every food you eat has vitamins, especially if it's fruit flavored-for example skittles and starburst.
