I am too old for this (vent/NTTCR)

Ever since I went off BCP back in September, my skin has been a big, broken out mess. I had hoped it would settle down over time, but no such luck. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since I always had skin problems before I went on BC, but some part of me assumed that by age 36 it would have cleared itself up. Has anyone else gone through this? What has worked for you (my skin is both super oily and super sensitive, which has made it hard to find effective products.) Thank you!

I'm afraid that I have the same problem. I was using dermatologist-prescribed medication to control my acne before I became pregnant in 2012. Now I'm wary to use medications while TFAS. The only thing that I am using now is Burt's Bees spot toner. It comes in a little glass vial, and it is roll-on. Have you ever tried "Yes to Carrots" or the other products from the company? Just curious, as I have not.

I have noticed I break out more now, too. It does seem like one should out grow this at some point....

I have combination and very sensitive skin. And a complexion that gives me more blemishes than I ever had in high school (which were few). I use Weleda's 2-1 cleanser/toner. And then I use a facial lotion from a local place here in Maine (that you can buy from their web site). That combination works great. I also to use a more expensive line that also worked, but it was not nice to my wallet.

haha, I'm about to be 42 and have breakouts!  yes love it, face like a 16 yr old and hair like a well like a 42 yr old.  I just tell myself that means my hormones are kicking into gear...  I just cleanse my face and deal with it

I also have the same skin issues. Not fun. I do like my Clarisonic to exfoliate my face; it helps a little.

I have had acne ever since I was 12. It’s embarrassing to be this old and STILL have it!
What I found that works a little is this:

Covergirl Sensitive Foundation and Bare Minerals Bronzing Powder (very light)
Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash from The Body Shop (about $14)
Seaweed Deep Cleansing Toner from The Body Shop (about $12)

 

Then—if there is a zit, I put toothpaste on it overnight (not the gel kind). If it is still there in the morning, I put a drop of Visine on it.

URMySunshine77 - I have tried Yes to Carrots products.  They were very gentle on my skin, but did nothing for my acne.

Lesliem0901 - How gentle is the Clarisonic?  I've been afraid to try it because my skin is so sensitive, I'm afraid it would irritate and turn me into a big red blotchy mess on top of the acne
