I don't like swearing.  I don't swear. It bother's me when I hear it.  I wouldn't ever tell someone to not swear around me.  I don't care.  But I found now that swearing really just bothers me.  And not just around DD.  Anything.  If DH swears when we are together I cringe.  I was never like this until the past couple years.  It was never a habit I picked up.  I didn't grow up with it. My father has never sworn and I think I can remember my mom cursing in front of me maybe once.  I just don't like it.  I don't judge people who swear. I don't know.  It just makes me kind of uneasy.

I get excited when I get a text. I normally get maybe 1 of 2 a day from DH. Whenever I get another through out the day I am excited.  I open it and my joy is killed.  It's normally stupid target mobile coupons.  I think it stems from being so lonely as a SAHM. Yes I have a toddler attached to me, but I'm still lonely.

I don't swear IRL. It just feels trashy to me, I don't know. I do type swears on here because I feel like it gets the point across easier since we don't have tone to go on. I always cringe when people talk about their toddlers cursing. Not in a judging way, in a I would die if that was my kid way.

I curse more than I should...a lot more.  So does DH.  We both make an effort to be better about it in front of the kids.  Sometimes we are successful, sometimes we aren't.  I worry about things like violence, sex, things that may scare them, etc. a lot more than the words that they hear.

I'm considering enrolling Aubrie in the Catholic school right around the corner for us.

I am not religious. I'm not even sure I believe in God.

But the class sizes are smaller, the kids are well behaved, the school is brand new. I can deal with the one hour a week she will spend in a "church" setting and consider it exposure to religion for her, even if I am not religious.

DH says no way. I say.... quality education?

I'm only to here, so sorry if this has been addressed. Keagan goes to a Jewish preschool. We aren't Jewish, or overly religious but the program fit, the building is nice and he loves it. Tour the school if you are interested in it!

There is a sliding scale of uneasiness.  On the low end would be hell on the high end would be the fbomb. I do censor G. I will sensor what she hears/watches/whatever. I will also sensor things she says and does.  I have no problem with that.  I"m not sure I consider it trashy...It's just not part of my vocabulary.  I just don't like it. I don't find it to be an attractive quality.  My husband did not swear as much when we were first dating as he does now.

I'm really sad our self cleaning oven didn't come with us when we moved. I hate cleaning the oven.
My mom started a small fire by using the self cleaning option on a too dirty oven when I was little, and now I have an irrational fear of using self-cleaning.  My oven will self-clean, but I clean it by hand instead.

I hate when appliances lock on you- the oven during self-cleaning, or some laundry machines.  I can't take that loss of control!
The washing machine lock is the worst. JUST LET ME THROW IN THIS PAIR OF PANTS THAT I FOUND, DAMMIT.

On our washing machine, if you hold the start button for 3 seconds it pauses and unlocks until you push start again, try it!

I have two: when I was at the playground with the boys yesterday there was an after school group using the playground as well. One of the "supervisors" was a male in his mid 20's with a few piercings in his ears, his eyebrow and lip. I found myself judging him for working with kids and having piercings like that. Then realized that I probably have more piercings than him and felt bad about it.

My other one: I'm a really shitty neighbor. I don't pick up after the dogs when I take them for a walk. I don't walk them everyday (they have long runs in the backyard) but when I do, I'm usually wrangling both the boys in the stroller at the same time. I never even think about it until they are dropping a deuce on the nicest lawn in the neighborhood.

I don't censor myself pretty much ever.  I'm ok with it.  I'm 31 years old and have spent the last 10 years of my career talking to people for a living.  I know how to read my audience, so I'm ok with throwing the occasional hell or damn in there.

The boys and I were at a play date last week and I slipped and said "it is so freaking expensive" in reference to something and my friends 5 year old completely called me out on it.

I have a FFFC for DH I guess. He has a gym in our garage that he works out in. He always has the garage door open. First off, he thinks it's funny to wear tank tops during his work outs for the world to see. So embarrassing. Secondly, he blasts hard core rap music with inappropriate lyrics. Kids ride their bikes up and down the side walk. I would hate us if I was our neighbors and would probably complain. Somehow everyone likes him so I think it keeps them from saying anything. Every time I go out there, I turn it down and make him change the song if it's too inappropriate, but I'm sure it's bad when I'm not around.
My DH wears tank tops.  Far more often than I'm comfortable admitting.  It's just so lame I can't even comment on it to him anymore.  I'm hoping he'll just get sick of them now that no attention is being given to how ridiculous they look.

Don't get me wrong, I know how to be appropriate. Never in front of a patient would I cuss. In the comfort of my office or break room, I have no filter. Neither do my co workers so it's ok. I catch myself in front of other kids before they slip out, but it's a close call. I'm good at correcting DH when he cusses in front of DD, but I find myself doing the same thing.
Part of why I think it's important not to swear in front of kids is to teach them how to be appropriate.  It's never appropriate to me for a young child to swear, at or around adults or other kids especially.

How much I swear myself is directly tied to my stress level.  When I was in the military, I never swore at work when we were stateside.  I swore all the time while deployed- it just helped me deal with stress.  There have actually been studies that say if you swear when you hurt yourself, for example you hit your finger with a hammer by accident, you feel the pain less than if you didn't swear.  The effectiveness of this wears off the more commonplace it is for you to swear.  I won't do it around my kids, or anyone else's, because it's not appropriate though.

I absolutely censor what my kids watch/ hear/ witness.
Well, I am all about common sense approach. Do I watch porn/hardcore horror movies in front of my kids or listen to 2 Live Crew in front of them? No, I do not... I don't do that without them around either, though.I don't censor my words, I do tell the boys that certain words are for adults only, but I find more often than not, they get bored with the word if I ignore it.

Disclaimer: I might be dating myself with the 2 live crew reference...
I don't have to censor my words because it isn't something I would say with or without the kids around. DH censors his words. He works with contractors and hangs with skaters, curse words are thrown around all the time with those groups. But he doesn't want to set that example for our kids so luckily it has never been an issue for me to have to get on him about. Your post read like you thought censoring was a bad thing and I don't think it is at all. We don't let the neighbor boys "cuss" at our house either (crap is the main word we hear and discourage). We will have different rules when the kids are older but for now they are parrots and don't need to be repeating all the things.

I honestly have no idea what's in style right now, for men or women.  I blame being pregnant for the last two years, but it's probably just me.  I learn about what's fashionable from my much younger SILs, as if I'm a senior citizen or something.  That will be one perk to having teenage daughters one day- they can dress me!

My husband wears sleeveless shirts.  I don't care if they are in style.  Nothing my husband wears is stylish.  I would never get him to wear something stylish unless carhartts, bib overalls, sleeveless shirts are in style.

Cursing in general doesn't bother me, but the GD word gives me the chills.

@IndigoVader - I heard heyyyy we want some ((cooochaayyy)) the other day. Awesome.

We have a food truck here called "The Grilled Cheeserie" it's amazing.

Also, I love rap music. Not much of the new stuff, but that's pretty much all I listen to.

DH has always worn sleeveless shirts.  I had no idea that he was trying to be stylish until he made the comment the other day.  I just thought they were ratty t-shirts.

I'm sure this might be a product of his work environment. DH didn't swear at all but since he got his job a couple years ago lets some swear words go once in a while. Only when DS isn't around. I curse like a sailor around softball but I'm not the only one. I think that's why.

DH wears what I buy him. Which makes it easy. Because he is far more fashionable because of me than he would ever be on his own.
DH has literally nothing in his wardrobe from when we first started dating. He looked like an old man in sweaters his mom would get him or his g/f previous to me. Terrible.

I do believe I said that I was not judging anyone else's parenting nor was I defending mine. We do things differently, that's all. I don't 'allow' my boys to cuss, but as I said previously the more attention they get by doing it, the more they do it- so I choose to ignore it. Your post read to me like your were judging me for how I choose to be a parent, and that is fine, you may or may not have been but it does not mean I am not a good mom.  ;)

    Quote boxes disappeared:
Except I specifically said I don't judge when other kids cuss, I would just die if
my kids did at this age. And again with the offended thing that Cheese hates so much :). Why would I be offended if you cuss in front of your kids.

I realized recently that the one person that I counted as a good friend around here has absolutely zero desire to hang out with me. We have known each other our entire lives (quite literally) and its really fucking stings. I wanted to be all badass and believe that I didn't give a flying fuck but now it is sinking in and I'm hurt.

I have no problem being stern with parents that come in on behalf of their kids.
I had a Mom call me and was reading me the riot act a little bit ago.  Swearing, yelling, etc.  Why did we put her daughter on probation, blah blah blah.

Dude.  Your kid failed 3 classes, withdrew from a 4th and got a D in the 5th. It immediately shuts them up when I show them how to log in and they can see it in front of them and prove that I'm not lying.  FFS.  Your kid is 22 years old.  This is her 4th semester here.  That's 2 years.  She knows how it works now, especially since I met with her in person 4x this semester.

I'm sorry. Sometimes friendships drift apart, but it doesn't mean they are gone. Sometimes people just have alottta shit going on in their lives and just kind of flake on the ones they care about.Hopefully this is just a phase, if not, you always have TB.  :x

I'm annoyed we have to pay sales tax on Amazon purchases now.

Did I miss something? I haven't ordered in a while from there but don't remember paying taxes the last time. Maybe MI doesn't require it? If not that's one thing we have going for us.
It's because they're building two really big distribution centers here. As far as I know, they only tax the states they have locations in.

Nope but you won't be able to use your oven for about 4 hours.
