My son is almost 13 months and I would like to give him hummus. I'm a nervous Nelly with allergy stuff but we have never had any issues. When did you introduce hummus? How do you serve it?
I'm thinking we'll wait until she's out of diapers, since the one time I ate hummus while breastfeeding Mari had gas that literally cleared the room. That's probably not helpful to you, though. But I really miss hummus.
I give Ds hummus all the time and he's not even 9 months. I put it on a cracker, toast, bagel, pita bread, or use it for dipping with veggies like carrot or celery sticks.
DS eats hummas all the time. He has since he was about 9 months. I dont think that its an allergy risk, but if you're worried just make your own and omit the seeds etc. Probably healthier since you control the type of oil and the amount of seasonings too

My son is allergice to dairy, soy and eggs and I gave him some which he loved! And he was covered with a rash for 2 days. I would say its ok if your LO doesn't have allergies! GL

Re: Hummus for 1 year old?
I don't think it's a big allergen (mostly chickpeas), but you could look it up on www.wholesomebabyfood.com if you're nervous.
When we did feed humus, I think I just put some of it on small pieces of pita. Worked fine for us. I don't remember when we first introduced it.
