I know there was a post awhile back but I can't find it. I'm pretty sure it's just allergies but it could be turning into a chest cold. I have a cough since sunday that it just getting worse ( I do get bronchitis a lot). I was wondering what robitussin was ok to take. Especially since I got a 5am lecture from my DH on how I was coughing all night, that my cough isn't normal and that I'm hurting the baby...yeah cuz that's what everyone wants to hear at 5am... Anyhoo I called my OB (which I can't stand and want to change) to see what I could take but they tell me I have to call my general practitioner and whatever they put me on they will add to my record. Well that doesn't help me cuz I'm one of those crazy people that doesn't have one. I'm never really sick and if it's bad enough I just go to a statmed or something like that. -Which was also part of the 5am lecture.
So long story short is there something I can take to nip this cough in the butt? And it is a normal cough...It's that tickle in the back of the throat kind and he doesn't understand that the cold AC air effects it and my office is below zero as usual so it doesn't get better here either.
Sorry for the long rant...

Re: Can't find old post
Think this was it, one of the ladies posted her safe list from her doctor but I would still not take anything unless you speak to a doctor. Everyone's different and what is safe for one person may not be safe for you or your LO. Hope you feel better.

@autumnsnow I never got a list from my OB but I ask at appts as questions arise and when I did get sick I was able to reach him on call to check if I could take cough medicine and he said Robitussin capsules were fine to take. He also said I could take Claritin-D.
You totally did the right thing in calling your OB.....I think you're right in wanting to change though. They shouldn't be referring you to a GP. Your OB should have answers for your questions involving your health especially when it can affect baby. Best of luck to you.
My OB said that is fine as long as you do not get anything with a decongestant. Good luck I hope your cough gets better. Tickle in your throat is one of the worst!
