It's so painful to look at I'm getting a headache. I'm all for different....but think about the kid's future before you do dumb shit like that. Parent Fail..
Would this be a good time to bring out the craziest baby names we ever heard of? I would like to recycle this, the most, um, creative name I ever heard. (Which I did already post on another thread, sorry, but it is just too applicable.)
I have to admit I totally fell for the Orangejello and Lemonjello thing. My aunt told me and I fell hard. Day one on the names board cleared that right up!!!
Sadly... not so much. My mother sells cars and had a customer with this name. She called me immediately since I am a teacher (in a very urban school and hear crazy names every year!).
Well if learning to spell her own name was part of kindergarden then yeah she should be in the paper! Front page! Give this kid a free pass straight to college!

Pronunciation: "aahb-say-dee" Spelling: Abcde
Our last name begins with a G, and when we were pregnant we were set on the middle name Fillmore before we decided on a first name. I saw this name on some baby name website, and I teased my husband saying I was going to name our child Abcde F. G------.
Also, my SIL is a teacher and says she has a family in her school with the last name Bourne. The kids' middle names are First, Second and Third.
Ok.. last time editing to add... I graduated with a kid named Diamond Stone. He pronounced it Dia-mon-day.
My little sister was in class with a girl with the last name White, first name Snow. Why parents?
I have shared this before, but a friend of mine named her daughters Nyla (nee-la) and Nelay (nee-lay). I've never gotten the whole matchy matchy names for siblings, but this is taking it a little too far.
One of my friends on facebook posted a pic of her son's preschool graduation program. Some of the highlights include: Na'Jae, Armani, Remon, NyKaya, S'Raya, Mircal, and Jesneida. I don't even know how to phonetically pronounce most of those.
Mircal looks like miracle as in the way some people say 'merrrcah instead of America.
I'm sure some of those names in the class are ethnic names--which isn't annoying. It's when people do things that don't make sense, like the couple a few years ago that wanted to name their kid "Adolf Hitler" for first and middle names. (The courts stepped in and called it child abuse, I think.)
Finally I may have something to contribute without just commenting "Lol" on a thread!
H and I are both EMTs in a big city and collectively we've come across these names as our actual patients:
Amyrkle ("a miracle")
Amistake ("ah mis-teek")
Onazty (pronounced "honesty")
Dhayveyde (David)
Baby Girl (kid was 4 months old already. Mom thought the Dr had named the baby for her.)
As for the Ladasha urban legend, unfortunately it is true in some cases. A nurse friend of mine at an ER was all in a mood one night because she got cussed out by Le-a's mom for pronouncing it "Leah" and "Laya" before the mom shouted "IT'S LADASHA!" Lol.

My ex went to school with a sister and brother named Dante and Lucifer, respectively. I didn't believe him, but he pulled out a yearbook and there they were. She was blond, I think the brother had light brown hair (black and white pictures).

Urban Legend that may have been real once or twice. I know the facebook people have it listed, but it's probably ake. the kids who would have this name like the Neaveh's probably don't have facebook yet.
I mean kids who parents heard the legend and likes the name.

Nevaeh kills me... I actually know a little girl with that name and she proudly told me "it's heaven spelled backwards! " It was all I could do to not say 'I'm sorry'

It was in the top 50 in IL baby names the last year or two? I can't remember which but I smacked my head when I read it.
Also there is a bunch of "Neveah Salons" and spas and such.

One of my best friends name is Carrington and I happen to love her name. But good gravy...
When we worked together one of our customers told her her mom must have hated her for naming her that.
I just shared this with her and she is cracking up hard.

Thank you. I dislike the perpetuating of the urban name legends. I'm pretty sure the Abcde one is, too.
These I know personally - all in the same family:
Youme (you+me)
Tuyo (you+me in Spanish)
Ocho (the eighth child)
One of my friends shared this pic on FB and I was just like "The Ys are for whyyyyyyyyy"
