How many betas did you have?

Hi ladies! I have had 2 betas so far. Apparently as long as they're doubling, they set you up for a ultrasound in 2.5 weeks! I just find it crazy to wait 17 days with no more betas. Yikes. I would usually call my nurse and ask her if I could come in again for one more but my RE is 2 hours away so not exactly convenient!

How many betas did your office do?

We had two, then scheduled an US.  However, when I started bleeding/passing clots, we did two more betas and did an early US at 5 weeks.  Luckily everything is looking good, had second US Monday showing a heartbeat and we are graduated.  Sounds like your place runs like mine unless something happens.

I had 2 betas 48 hours apart. Since the second one had tripled, they didn't need/want to do betas anymore, so they set up the u/s for 2 weeks later. If your numbers hadn't doubled, they might have done another beta. For now, relax, because you are pregnant! Congrats!

For the next 17 days just keep telling yourself, "today I am pregnant". It sounds silly to have a mantra, but it really helps!

I had 3 betas each a week apart then an ultrasound the week after that.

I had 2 betas a week apart - 14dp3dt and 21dp3dt and then I had an U/S the following week.  The wait in between all of the U/S is hard!! Good luck!

I did 3 betas. I could not wait that long for another beta after two prior losses. Can you go to Labcorp or quest with orders vs driving so far to the RE? That's what I did.

The timing for my betas were different between this pregnancy and last, but I had 3 betas each time.

SS I just had one.  It was 16dpIUI and the number was high enough that they didn't feel a second was necessary.  First ultrasound was 15 days later and I was ready to lose my mind by the time it finally arrived.  I think I squeezed my boobs about every 5 minutes for those two weeks to make sure they still hurt.

Just one. I had to ask for the 2nd! Congrats! I know the wait is hard for the u/s but probably not as the 2ww!

Three betas 2 days apart, then 10 days till my first ultrasound. It's crazy how I thought I'd be so excited/relaxed once I got a positive result, but all you do is worry until the next doctor visit. IF primes you to worry and always think the worst....focus on your success! 

Just take each good result as a good sign

They did two before scheduling ultrasound. Then they did a beta with the next four ultrasounds (I had them weekly).

I had four betas.  My first beta came back lower than what the RE office would have liked.  So I came in on 4/4, 4/7, 4/9 and 4/11 to ensure my numbers were ok.  I was not back in the office until my 6 week ultrasound and again for my 8 week ultrasound.  I had to wait 10 days until my first ultrasound.

I had 2 about 4 or 5 days apart. My IVF coordinator told me I could come in for a third if I was going crazy, but 2 was the standard.

I think I had 5. The first two to see if I was pregnant, the second to confirm doubling and then they drew a beta among other things every week until they released me.

They only wanted me to do two but I needed some reassurance.  My ultrasound was going to be 2 weeks from 2nd beta.  I went in for a 3rd a week later.

I had betas at 9dp6dt, 11dp6dt and then at each weekly u/s from 5 to 8 weeks.  Toward the end the numbers were so high it was laughable, but it's standard protocol for them I suppose.

My place does betas until the levels are over 2k, I know a lot of people just get 2 betas as long as they are good numbers.

My office only did 2 total. One was 14dpiui and the other 16dpiui. My ultrasound wasn't until 2 1/2 weeks later either. I did end up going in a few days early because I had strong cramping which I learned was very common but got to see LO and hear a heartbeat. At my 7 week appointment I was released to an OB. It was a shock that I was now a "normal" pregnant woman and at the OB my appointments are every 4 weeks. Once I am 28 weeks we go to every other week, then at 35 weeks every week. I had ultrasounds at 7,  12 and 20 weeks but was told I won't have another till 35 weeks. During the initial wait before my ultrasound I took a pregnancy test every week just to confirm I was still pregnant. Good luck to you and congrats!!

I had 3 betas done, 2 days apart. Then they scheduled an US at 7 weeks. I know the wait is terrible but once you graduate from the RE the OB sees you even less often (until late in your pregnancy). I had my 7 week US and is currently waiting for 12 weeks to see baby again.

I had 3 betas done - the first & second one were a week apart (because I was traveling) and then 48 hrs between the second & the third one. When I had my 3rd beta they also did an u/s (5w2d) - we were only able to see the sacs at that time. Then I had weekly u/s until week 10. Good luck!

I had two betas (plus blood tests for estradial and progesterone), but they were a week apart. 11dp5dt and 18dp5dt. After the second beta, they scheduled my ultrasound.

I am having my fourth beta tomorrow. Still no u/s. I guess this isn't as common...
