Nap strike

My son will not nap for longer than 20 min during the week. Usually it's 10 to 15 mins a couple times a day.

On the weekends I nurse him to sleep and if I lay with him, he can sleep 2 hours.

Should I be concerned?

He is also reverse cycling and will not take a bottle during the day. I come home at lunch to nurse.

Re: Nap strike

  • Seems like he knows and prefers his mamma for eating and snoozing!  Can't really blame him, but I get that you want to encourage him to do these things without you when necessary.  I would only be concerned if this lack of daytime napping is affecting his mood and energy.  If he is a natural cat-napper and functions well this way it doesn't seem like it's a problem.  And if napping together for longer is something special you do on the weekends and that doesn't bother you, I also don't see the problem.

The KellyMom website has some good advice on reverse cycling, good luck!
