Which test did I take?

Okay, so I had one of those brain fart moments where I didn't ask the doctor questions and then I thought of some when I got home, so here is my question to you guys 

I got blood drawn (I am 12 weeks) and she told me it tests for Downs and T 18. What test is that?

I keep hearing about matern21 and vertify and all those other ones, but it sounds like those tell you a ton more syndrome and issues.

Anyone know?

Did you also have an ultrasound? If you also had an ultrasound, they take blood for the NT Scan to determine your risk for those things along with the ultrasound.

yes, I took an ultrasound and was told that was NT, so basically that's all that is.

I want to do some of these other testings. I guess I have to ask now.

As far as I am aware, the blood tests for mat21, harmony and verifi just test the 3 trisomies: 13, 18 and 21 with an optional XY chromosome for sex. You can get additional sex chromosome info with verifi (like turners)

I wish I had asked what exact "fetal tests" she was doing. They took like 7 vials of blood, so I am not really sure if it was NT only or more. 

I never think of the right questions when I am in the office. I need to be beter about writing stuff down ahead of time and asking from the list

If it was at your first prenatal work up then it's usually the first part of the integrated screening for downs and trisonomies.

Also usually blood type, complete blood count, rubella immunity and sometimes a couple others. It seems with all those vials they must be taking at least half your blood supply.
